White Screen of Death!!

So my girlfriend got the white screen and is flipping a ****, i had her run a hardware test and it's the HD. Would i still be able to boot in FireWire Target Disk mode and salvage her documents. She just graduated and is thinking about going to grad school and would have no writing samples to show.



P.S. i've been telling her for awhile to get an external for TM

Well she just got the exclamation point folder. So i'm guessing it's a no.

No one knows. I think she got the folder because she booted with a DVD.

So the bad news arrived that we could not get her info off of her HD because it was not mounting. The even tried to connect it to another computer and get the info off that way. Excellent experience @ the Genius bar.

Yea that is what the genius said and what i have been telling her. Her brothers did the same not too long ago. I had her buy me an external for Christmas last year, i guess i should have looked for a twofer
