ok...a friend brought me her ibook (it says iBook on it), and told me her hard drive failed; and wanted me to re-install her OS....and she had Leopard and an "Apple Care" cd.

upon further research, i matched the computer as an iBook G3. The contents of the material she gave me with Leopard, all said "iMac G5". Plus this computer was from 2002, and had a 40g IBM hard drive led me to believe it was a G3. Also, someone mentioned to me in another thread, Leopard cannot go on an iBook G3.

So I got Tiger. and installed the hard drive. I start it up, and after the bell tone, hold down "C" so it boots from the disk.

Just a white screen.
any help?

Did you get retail Tiger or a version of tiger that is specific for a certain type of computer? It should say on the DVD.
