It's been awhile since I have logged into the forums, but it seems my signature has been changed and not for the better.

It used to be:
Please excuse my spelling, I am using Windoze :(
My AMD Athlon Mobile now running at 2.55Ghz on 1.875V (core)!

Now this has been added:
Too bad he wasn't hunting with Cheney HA HA :)

I thought someone had hacked into my account, but my last login was the end of last year, and that was way before the Cheney thing.

Anyone have any ideas about who could have changed my signature???
Not that it's a real big deal, but if someone can change my Sig that's pretty scary.

Only moderators and admins can edit other people sigs, I can't see why one of us would add this, nor can I see any record of it. Sure you didn't leave yourself logged in somewhere and a mate is having a joke?

yeah, strange, and don't see how it would have happened on our side.

it still up, would think you took it down, and it's mocking Cheney the takes you to the GOP site, its a trap! Perhaps you had a little to much to drink and changed it, and forgot about it. (or just forgot about it, with out drinking but for some other reason)

Maybe we are being invaded by the swamp people from Mars.

That sig does seem to be out of place tho, it doesn't make sense.

Somebody wouldn't have to know your password if you were already logged in, and they just used your computer, especially if your cookies are set to remember you when you go to MacRumors.

There's also some white text in there -- was that there before?

So... why is it still there?

Someone on your end is having a bit of fun with you.

But if someone knew his password, wouldn't it have registered the login, thus the last login date can't be 12-25-2005? As far as I know, the last login date isn't computer dependent.

This is strange...

Worst Case the mods on here can just get the IP numbers from the Login (the one thats not your) unless the 'person' used your computer, that would actually seem like the real cause here, maybe MR was open or still somehow logged on and a friend, co-worker, etc... Maybe thought it would be funny... I don't know, but it sure is interesting.

Hope this helps!

Yea, that was my first thought, but you can clearly see that the last login date was 12-25-2005 at 10:04 PM. Obviously I haven't been in the forums much since I started my new job.

The Cheney incident didn't occur until 02-11-2006 so there's no way that I could have logged in and changed it.

Is there any way to change your sig without logging in?
Or is there anyway to change the "You last visited" date?

I went ahead and changed my sig back to normal, we'll see if it stays that way.

No and no, as far as I know. In theory, somebody with access to the raw database files could change such information, but that certainly didn't happen. If it was a moderator mistake (adding a "joke" to a sig for no reason), it's the oddest moderator mistake I've seen.

Well there are logs of moderator actions so it would be easy to find out who. Just depends on how long the logs are kept

No no, mad jew wouldn't be capable of such an act. I, as his trusty sidekick, can attest to that.

is that why your 'tar is red now?

anyways, it is weird that it was changed. can the mods be sure that you didn't or someone else didn't log in from the date that you have? just to be sure?
