with such a big release as iOS 8 and all the added features it brings, i'm sure there will be a number of vulnerabilities that could & should be exploited by the amazing hackers in the JB community. here's hoping the latest jailbreak comes sooner rather than later :D
as much as i love my iPhone 6, it's still not complete without a jailbreak ;)

I just hope that they find more than 1 exploit in case Apple patches 8 with 8.0.1 or 8.1

If I'm not mistaken, untethered jailbreak for iOS 7 didn't come out until December 2013. It seems that iOS 7 was a bigger change than 8, so I'm not holding my breath. I had been hoping for a jailbreak in October, but December seems more realistic.

I'm no expert at this but my guess is it will be released shortly, the teams still got exploits they found in iOS 7 that they didn't use in the jailbreak plus iOS 8 brings lots of under the hood changes which means new code and new bugs...

This is my thought exactly when it comes to iOS 8 jailbreak. I don't think it;s gonna be for a while. My guess is late November or early December.

This is a good point. The changes to iOS 8 are not much on the surface, but one level deep there are some significant changes. And judging by how quickly they launched (and then pulled!) iOS 8.0.1, I'm guessing there was a lot they wanted to fix (and a fair amount they inadvertently broke).

But still, I'm going to pencil in the first week of December, and hey if it comes earlier, then I'll be pleasantly surprised.

True, also with opening iOS through extensions and whatnot, this may be another avenue for exploitation.

So it was Pangu this time around. What's neat is how different players are able to utilize the work of others. Pangu exploits a vulnerability, Saurik updates Cydia and substrate, and I bet others will contribute English and Mac versions of the jailbreak tool.
