I'm still very confused with Apple/Hollywood's ultimate movie rental releases.

Take for instance this week.

Both Ice Age (part 3) and Orphan were officially released on Tuesday October 27th.

When I login on my Apple TV/iTunes, only Orphan is available immediately for rent.

Ice Age 3 is only available "buy" There is no rent option on Ice Age 3.

I know the general policy of Apple TV is to make all new releases available for "rent" within 4 weeks of it's initial DVD/blu ray release date.

But why are some movies available for download to RENT the same day as it's original DVD/Blu Ray release date but other movies you will have to wait up to 4 weeks?

Are certain studios still resisting Apple?

The studios determine it on a release by release basis. Redbox is having similar problems with several studios and is in court fighting over it.

The studios still haven't figured it out.
