Again, instead of leaving the 'lifeproofing' up to us, why don't apple just make the thing with a protective cover, and reflect this in the price?
We're paying for something that is so small & cool that we then have to cover up to be able to use. We're paying for all the time they spend making the thing impractical.
I don't buy ipods until second gen, to ideally avoid all this, but I'm reading a lot of peoples stories on here that make me feel a little sad.
I want the ipods to be the coolest & smallest, but if the price we pay in the stores isn't the final price, they should either let people know that from the start, or get the thing right in the first place.
The thing that strikes me as being crazy, is that something that is fairly like an ipod, they're not giving the cases a real pounding to see if they perform.
All the things that can possibly go wrong with a new, cutting edge electonic product, and it's a silly thing like the case that lets it down? They should have had those cases whizzing round in a tumble dryer to test for scratches!!
Rant over.
