I would love to see a new iPhone, but I have a feeling there might not be a new one. I have this feeling because Steve Jobs won't be there and the iPhone is "his".

Given the banner regarding the App store and recent release of the Pre, I think they will announce a new phone Monday. Just like 3G was announced last year.
I have my doubts.... But i honestly think apple would be stupid not to release a new one and I feel steve will be there.. I can see it now " the big screen on the back says "Phil Schiller" and then out walks Steve JObs and the crowd goes wild and apple stock goes up 10%!
maybe at the "end" of the keynote, phil is thanking everyone, c ya next year, go buy our stuff etc....Steve walks out and interrupts Phil and Steve says" but there is One more thing...."Standing ovation.... Phil acts all sad. Steve says I'm back blaw blaw...Steve gets a phone call. it says Phil Schiller... he answers it. Phil's face comes up on the screen via video chat. "yells" at steve for taking his keynote.... That would AWESOME!
Apple will announce the new iPhone tomorrow!
The only way I could possibly see Apple not announcing it, would only be if Apple wanted to dedicate WWDC to software development through all platforms and separate the iPhone hardware announcement for another day.

That would be amazing..... if apple does not do that they should hire you to handle all their public appearances!

See, Philly's gonna be all sad. So he's gonna take a 3G and chuck it at Steve's head. Steve's gonna take the new iPhone and *gasp*, it can transform..... into a car (with video chat of course). And run over Phil's ass....
And as a "one more thing", he'll announce that it increases your virility and sperm count.... then cruise off stage in a car that would make Koenigsegg blush....
Even is Steve Jobs isn't at the WWDC he is a big boy and im sure understands that the company needs to move on without him. I think if the new iPhone is ready to be unvieled then it will be.
Mossberg is very close with apple and said that there would be a new iPhone so it HAS to be released. Here's hoping!

I can see a phone with upgraded specs, but no major overhauls. You don't need Steve for that, and no, that iPhone is not "his." If anything Apple has been trying to move away from a Steve-centric Apple by focusing on individual developers and designers.
