I have an iPhone 8 AT&T 256GB iOS 11.3 And I love everything about it, ESPECIALLY the dual speakers. I enjoy them daily, by a lot. NOTE: My first iPhone 8 had some crackling sounding speakers after 6 months. So they switched it out at the Apple store with no stress at all.
I went from an iPhone 8 to 7 Plus and I miss those speakers. Just like the speakers on my 15" MBP from 2015 which are not as good as the ones on the Touch Bar models. Long story short, Apple has a strong speaker game going. Can't wait to try out HomePod.
I had the iPhone 7 and to be honest the dual speaker system was not well made. iPhone X is a different story, the speakers are just amazing.
My iPhone X speakers are so loud and clear. Normally in the past I would alwasy have the volume on max while watching anything. Not with the X. Good speakers for a smart phone.
I agree that my 8+ speakers are the best of any iPhone, really outstanding. My current iPhone X has very good speakers, yet, not quite as good as the 8+.
While marginally better than my previous iPhones i don’t feel impressed with the speakers in my 8+ or iPad Pro. They are ok but any decent external speaker will be immediately preferred.
I don't know if I'm in LOVE with my iPhone speakers. Anyway, we haven't had that conversation just yet but I know that one of us is going to say it soon and I'm nervous. Do I LOVE my iPhone speakers or am I just in love with the idea of loving them? I need a Cosmo.
Coming from a Motorola Moto X Pure, I was apprehensive about the iPhone speaker setup. I was used to dual, front facing stereo speakers. iPhone 8 Plus speakers are pretty good, but don’t compare to the Moto.
8 plus speakers are great, but I always use headphones. I'm never in a position to listen to anything longer than a minute or 2 via the phone speakers.
The stereo image isn't great on my 8 Plus. Is the speaker at the top smaller than the bottom one? The sound seems louder from the bottom one when listening in stereo.
I'm just concerned because I thought both speakers worked for sound. I only get sound from one speaker. --- Post Merged, Mar 30, 2018 --- Oh, I thought that the 'stereo' effect was from the ones on the bottom.
Like tonybarnaby, I use AirPods most of the time when listening in the wild, and HomePod when at home. I have used the 8+'s speakers while in the shower and found them very good!
We know an external speaker would greatly improve the sound and stereo speakers can’t compete with external speakers, but I don’t think that’s the point either. But in the terms of where the iPhone used to be with the sound, the stereo speakers are substantially louder and more Crisp.
Less terrible than what we were used to, for sure. Just doesn’t make them good or make me fall in love with a piece of tech. If we ever approach the moment when an external speaker could be replaced, if that is even possible, that would be a game changer.
Interested to know this as well. Am testing at the moment. But all the max volume distortions have definitely been reduced or eliminated.
I have a 7 so haven't tried the 8's speakers but the 7's are pretty outstanding as well. I also have a pixel 2 for my android fix and I think I give the iP 7 a slight edge over the Pixel's speakers for sound quality. Seems a little bit richer sounding and more volume capability as well.
I noticed that too and am wondering if they changed that in an update. I didn’t/don’t use them enough to know whether it was better at launch.
The one hidden feature that most are not aware of the iPhone 8 stereo speakers, is Apple actually increased them by 25% louder over the iPhone 7 stereo speakers.
