I've noticed that using a case versus "going naked" is a pretty hot topic around here. I think it's a matter of choice and I'm not interested in further debate on the question or trying to prove the naked crowd "wrong."

But I am curious about who besides me might use multiple cases.

Personally, I've already got two cases for my new 14 Pro to cover different scenarios. My daily driver is a Totallee clear case. Honestly, I think it was a bit overpriced, but I like it. It offers scratch protection, moderate impact protection, and for me it makes the phone more comfortable to grip. It allows me to preserve the original look of my phone. Yes, it does look a little different with the case but I consider it a worthwhile trade-off.

I also have a Speck Presidio2 for more "rough and tumble" activities like disc golfing, which is just a very dirty and dusty affair and would accelerate the dulling of my clear case. I'd be inclined to use this case for activities like backpacking and snowboarding, as well.

I'm also considering getting a nice leather case, just as another look for my phone. But the one I'm most interested in, the Andar Aspen in Camel Tan, is sold out. Maybe I'll be over it by the time they are back in stock. We'll see.

Who else uses multiple cases with their iPhone?

I normally only get one case to last the life of my phone but I picked up an Otterbox Defender on my 12 Mini to begin with before moving onto an Apple Silicone case.

My last phone was an XS, I had it for about four years and used a cheap clear case, which got really dingy and sort of discolored over time so I replaced it about halfway through. This time I'm going a little crazy with the accessorizing, I guess. 🤷‍♂️

I was thinking maybe I should just use the Presidio, but after a couple of weeks I've decided that I do prefer the look of the clear case overall.

I think it’s normal to have more than one case. I see that quite a lot. There are some crazies on here though who have a different case for each day of the week. That’s totally cool though in my books as all those cases tally up to the cost of AC+ for 2 years, lol… and I’d rather have the cases.

I use just one rugged dual-layer case because you never know when a drop might happen. Clear cases look nice but offer zero drop protection.

I have the Apple Midnight and Ink Leather cases, along with an ANDAR Brown and Apple Lilac, Red and Blue Silicone and a Spigen Ultra Hybrid Clear Case. So 3 leather, 3 silicone and 1 hybrid. Yep that’s one for every day. I match them with my watch bands and what I’m wearing that day.

Awesome! I have five watch bands and another on order to complement what I am wearing or doing. Cute cat, too. I have three of those. :)

Really love the Totallee cases. I have both the soft clear case and the even thinner clear “hard” case for my 14 Pro Max. Bit expensive but they do make high quality products. Weight was a concern to me with the Pro Max and the Totallee cases are a great choice.

I don’t use a case, but I think having multiple cases, according to activity or dress code makes sense.

I have multiple Apple Watch bands that I switch out for the same reason. Why not cases?

Mine is the soft clear--I like its grippiness.

I have about 12 cases now, it’s a hobby and my joy I suppose. I change cases once or twice a day depending on what I want. I have Apple leather, incipio, Laut (came in today) a few Kate Spaid, and Zagg clear cases. Also a couple of the blue OtterBox defender pro cases. I’m guilty of buying two or three of the same case sometimes, spares for when they get damaged or really dirty. But I usually keep my cases in the original boxes so they stay nice looking. I’m a caseaholic! Lol. However I do many times use my iPhone at home without a case to admire it, but not in the outside world. I can’t risk damaging the iPhone. It would drive me crazy .

This is inaccurate.

I use the TORRAS Diamond Clear which is tested to 10ft. The Tech 21 Evo Clear is tested to 12 ft of multi drop and the Speck Presidio Perfect Clear provides 16ft of drop protection.

The Caudabe Lucid Clear provides drop protection as well which I've owned in the past, but they don't throw out any specific numbers. I know people have said it's protected them from falls before though (as it has myself too).

Do you just sell all your cases when you move onto another phone? How long do you keep your phones for given that you have enough cases to last many years?

I find that gel or silicone cases are extremely durable and can easy last 2 years without becoming tattered. I only had one case for my 6S and one for my 8.

I prefer Apple Silicone these days though.

Not going to change my case to fit an occasion. One case till it get a bit worn and then the same new one will replace. Not into fashion statements, I am into good grip and scratch protection.

I made the mistake of buying too many cases for the two 13 pro max iPhones that I had, now I have a bunch of cases I can’t use. I’ve tried selling cases in the past o Facebook marketplace and it was a lot of trouble scheduling a meetup with those interested. Not sure what I’ll do with them. I have the 14 pro max iPhone now, a second one is on order as I have four lines on my account. So, I’ll not buy as many this time. As a photographer, I upgraded for the amazing camera on the 14 pro. I suppose if the 15 is better, I’ll upgrade, if not, then I’ll keep the. 14 longer. I usually upgrade each year …

Seems like a lot to spend on a phone that you’re only planning to keep for a year. I would consider selling any cases you don’t want on eBay as you’ll be guaranteed a sale & it is the safest and most hassle free place to go to if you want to protect yourself from being scammed. You will easily get around 2/3 or at least 1/2 of your cash back after selling your old cases so it is well worth doing.

For me cases are an expression of style, more than just protection. I rarely pick a case due to its ability to protect my phone. Rather, I choose a case for its visual prize. The only reason I don't go naked (though I've been tempted many times) is for the bare minimum protection of the phone. So I have many many cases of different styles and colors. I do it with every phone.

I know that you would like your money back, but maybe just consider giving them away to friends or family. For any case that I have in good condition for any of my previous phones I just give away.

That’s probably what I’ll do. I’m not concerned with getting the money back, I wouldn’t get but $5 per case anyway. I don’t know that many people around me with a 13 pro max but I’ll look around
