Hey,

I just replaced Apple TV 1st Gen with 2nd and everything went smooth so far.

However I have 1 very annoying issue. Stereo HomePods as audio output don't work anymore because it constantly looses connection. Then I unplugged the ethernet cable and tried with Wifi. Only then did I learn that the HomePods are not the problem but the AppleTV constantly loosing Wifi connection... :-(

It is actually unusable without an ethernet connection. Anyone else?

I am using wireless on ATV 4K 2nd generation.
Homepods in stereo pair, set as default speakers
The wifi speed is slow. Ipad gets 460-512 Mb, ATV only 212 Mb.
Both Ipad and ATV on the same 5Ghz network, separated from 2.4 GHz.
Any way the ATV update is causing the issue? 😎
My internet speed is 500 Mb/s

Are you HomePods still working as stereo pair and default audio output?

Do you have Wifi 6?

My HomePods stopped working with 2nd Gen Apple TV 4K because Wifi is not working at all…

I have recently upgraded to Wifi 6 with no changes in this regard.

I even asked Apple to exchange the hardware but not difference as well.

Yes no difference with 2nd unit of 2nd Gen Apple TV 4K but might be because of coming from the same production week.

I guess your slow speeds might have something to do with positioning, obstacles or less WiFi antennas on the ATV compared to iPad.

It sounds like you tried using a wired/ethernet connection to isolate the problem to the wifi radio on your ATV. But it also sounds as if you may have a new wireless router. Are you able to prioritize your ATV in the list of devices connected to your router? Is this problem isolated to your ATV, or have you done troubleshooting to ensure this isn't the case with other wireless devices connecting to the same router that might not show such obvious symptoms? If you've swapped out the ATV, I'd be looking at whatever you did to upgrade to WiFi 6 as the culprit.

I have no idea what my case might be.
Could it be Homepods?
