I use both. I can only type in landscape if the iPad is resting against something. If there's nothing to rest it against I have to type in portrait mode using both thumbs iPhone style.

me.

The 1024 horizontal resolution makes web pages look the right size.

When I pick up the iphone I find myself shaking it trying to get the homescreen to rotate.

When I read I use portrait as well, cause you get more words per page.. And I just like it better, but I find typing easier in landscape mode unless I'm lying in bed I lock it in portrait mode.

Yup, mine's pretty much permanently in landscape, except for those very few apps that don't work right in that orientation (I'm looking at you, The Spectator).

I use mine portrait pretty much all the time unless viewing video. It just feels more natural to me. Like holding a book. It is usually upside down with the home button at the top too so the speaker isn't covered.

Tend to use mine in portrait mode most of the time but flip to landscape when typing like now. Portrait seems more natural to me too.

I'm the opposite; I use mine in portrait mode nearly all the time. I find it easier to read web pages and WSJ in portrait. The only times when I'm in landscape mode is when I'm watching movies or running games like Angry Birds.

Same here - only use landscape for Movies or games.

Landscape - Mail, Notes, Safari, Thomson Reuters News Pro, BloomBerg, Angry Birds (the only game i actually play... sad lol) and Movies are all better in Landscape 🙂 what i really freaking want is a Stocks App by Apple or a widget system?

This is exactly what I do.

I also find it easier to type while in portrait (I hold it in my hands and type with my thumbs).

I rarely use it in landscape.

I thought i was the only one! im always locked in landscape, portrait just doesnt feel right to me. horizontal definitely feels more natural on the eyes.

Those who only Safari in landscape are missing out on one of the best features of the iPad, zooming in onto long vertical columns of text. Great for reading all types of articles and blogs. Not only do you get more text on the screen at a time, you also cut off ads that are usually on the right/left
