Agreed, the price different was so small, it just made sense to upgrade to the 12 pro. Cheers, David BrodosiI think what happened is that Apple raised the price of the 12 and cut the price of the pro models, so the 12 became less appealing as a result
For some of us though the iPhone 12 was the maximum cost we wished to pay for an iPhone though. It was just a bit more for the 12 Pro, but the features for that bit extra were not necessarily appealing to everybody, including myself. I suppose that’s why both models exist as not everybody had the same needs from a smartphone.Agreed, the price different was so small, it just made sense to upgrade to the 12 pro. It only makes sense if you’re actually going to use the pro camera features. It doesn’t make sense to upgrade for the sake of upgrading, but only if you value the specific features that differentiate the models. Had 120hz been a feature I would have upgraded.Agreed, the price different was so small, it just made sense to upgrade to the 12 pro. Cheers, David Brodosi
Good point. I do usf the camera a lot but not the only thing I considered. Of course I was going from an iPhone 8 to a 12. I miss the home button and still trying to get use to swiping to switch apps. Not fun!It only makes sense if you’re actually going to use the pro camera features. Hey now I’m no bro lol I’m a chica hahaThe 12 is the best selling model IRL afaik; it just seems underrepresented on macrumours. I think most people here lean towards the pro models since its an enthusiast forum. Then there's the mini crowd also who are quite outspoken. Us 12 bros are the silent majority.
5.8 was too small for me also; I always liked the 6.1 inch size and find it a good middle ground. The 12 really feels like the 11 design perfected. Same display size with a smaller lighter footprint, higher resolution oled display, slim bezels and the flat sides which I personally prefer. I liked the size of my 11 but the 12 feels much nicer. The only thing missing is a reduced or removed notch.I find the 5.8-inch too small for me, & I’m over the size of the 6.5-inch XS Max I have. Too me, the 6.1-inch XR, 11 and 12 are the perfect size. I’ll be picking up a iPhone 12 (blue) soon. I had the XR when it came out, but couldn’t stand the screen after a while. I’m glad to see the iPhone 12 screen is higher resolution now, so it’s perfect for me.
Honestly it shocks me that the 12 is the same size of my xr yet it is so more compact as a woman who wears tight skinny jeans and dresses and skirts yet i don’t feel like I’m missing out on screen real estate. This is also the first time I had a current iPhone before as I’m usually a gen behind5.8 was too small for me also; I always liked the 6.1 inch size and find it a good middle ground. You're wrong and with the time you will be progressively even more wrong. No, it’s not. The Pro Max is with the Pro right behind it. In fact, the iPhone 12 is in the same boat with the Mini. Yang forecasts 11 million less Mini sales than originally expected and 9 million less iPhone 12 sales.
”The analyst reportedly cut the production expectations of the iPhone 12 mini by as much as 11 million units. The iPhone 12 production expectations have also been reduced by nine million, while the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 11 production is speculated to grow by two million and eight million units, respectively.”
Make that 26 (I also have the 12Pro)Naaah, those 25 mini users are just a very vocal group.![]()
