I sold my iphone 3g in anticipation of getting the new one and then Apple pulls this crap on us. Basically the same phone and terrible pricing for us current iphone 3g owners.

Everybody is always crying over the pricing of the phone. If AT&T was going to let you have it for the cheaper price each year, they would only make you sign a 1 year contract.

What about the people who have 2g phones and AT&T won't let them upgrade?
If you are locked into a 2 yr contract and expected to get a fully subsidized phone after a year, well its your fault for being foolish.
As soon as I saw the price of $199 for a 16gig on the live WWDC feed; I made my sale active on ebay. Later when I learned of the $399 price point due to my contract, I ended my sale.

What are you talking about? Anyone on a 1st gen iPhone is eligible for the subsidized pricing.
