I used to buy iphone every year but i see 1 colors always in bold when using it is black slate, not understand why this colors are no longer ... apple need to bring back

Agreed. Only reason I bought a black iPhone 6 (all 5 other iPhones I've bought have been white/silver) was specifically because the space gray was so light that year.

The problem with slate black, when it scratches, it looked terrible. It’s a very nice looking color new out of the box, but not a color that I would want for a phone specifically because of that matter alone. It’s kind of like the jet black for the iPhone 7 when it launched, a very nice color, but looked horrible when it was all scratched.

I loved that black slate. I think Apple could create a more durable version of that black now given the trials with the 7 (both the matt and Jet Black versions). I have a Jet Black 7+ myself.

1- black slate
2- jet black

both look super cool, wish apple can bring it again with anti crash build in ,

I loved the colour of slate black. I couldn’t imagine using it without a case though. Even with one, I had little chips in it and it really stood out.

when I first bought it and there was tests being done on the durability I just tested tapping it with my keys on the camber and sure enough that thing would chip like nothing. Returned it for a white version which I didn't want to get but that was my only option for the 5 generation

I prefer the Space Grey on the iPhone 5S/SE, however I currently have the Space X and the glass makes it look better.

Jet Black was probably my favorite with this as a close second
I assume we are getting the same color black as last year but some variety would be nice.

Like this? I still have mine, a day 1 pre-order. It hasn't held up all that well over the last 6 years though. It was a very cool color however, and they looked great out of the box.

Personally, I love my Jet Black 7 still, and it's held up alright. If I could do it again I'd get red but it wasn't out on launch. Might pick up a red iPhone X style phone next year if they release one.

I'm wondering why Apple doesn't release the black iPhone X but with the chrome stainless steel just like the silver version. It saves them the hassle and it'll look gorgeous.

Matte Black or Stealth Black would be a nice color. Hopefully we might see it this time around on the new iphones

Not to brag or make anyone jealous here or anything but I still have this very slate black iPhone 5 running iOS 6.1.4. I’m really glad that I kept it and didn’t update it to iOS 7 or above. Still got my black iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1.1 too. Oh and an iPad 3 also running iOS 5.1.1 (shame about the internals in that generation though).

Okay... I lied, I did kinda brag there, but I’m glad I trusted my instincts and kept them all on their latest firmware.
