iPad Pro Who else uses their iPad truly as a tablet/no keyboard?

Not at near $600AUD it won't. 13" 256gb ipad pro and keyboard is $700 more than a 15" 256gb macbook air.
And you still have a big iphone, with keyboard.

I have the Mini (before that, a 10.5" iPad Pro) and I use it as a tablet. If I want to be writing emails, letters, etc., I use the iMac at home or MBP wherever I may be. A keyboard for the tablet just seems redundant. (For my needs - your mileage may vary...)
 
I 💯 use my iPad M4 by itself. I used to have a wireless keyboard(that took 3 AA batteries back in the day.) Having used software keyboards since iPhone OG, I just don’t have a need for a physical one. I’m pretty speedy, though…
 
I have one M4 iPad Pro as strictly a tablet for consumption and another M4 iPad Pro with keyboard that runs my photography business along with all my photo processing and pencil use.

Me most of the time. But sometimes, I dock my iPad beside my Mac and use it with Universal Control. Its nice having 24" of screen real state when I need it

I’ve tried many times to go iPad only, but ultimately there was always something that was holding me back. But I’m happy with my Mac, and using the iPad as a tablet makes me appreciate it for what it is. Haven’t touched my Magic Keyboard in a few months, but really enjoying the MoFT Dynamic Folio 🙂

I do my Office work, photo and video editing no issues at all. Also with the iPadOS 26 Windowing, you can multi task optimised iPhone/iPad apps like whats app, instagram, tick tock, utube, Disney Plus, safari, shopping apps etc all at the same time.

Got a 5 month old 13" M4 MBA 16/256 for the price Apple sell the MGK for. $500AUD.
 
I have 3 computers, iPhone, iPad and MacBook. I retired 3 months ago. I use the iPad for zoom calls and spreadsheets with my investor. I use the onscreen keyboard. I am typing on it now. I use my MacBook only to manage and sort my various Photo libraries. Once I finish that project and merge my libraries to one, I will sell the MacBook.

We all have different needs, I’m glad I am at a stage in my life where I can simplify and not worry about it.

Where do you find deals like that‽ You're paying AU$750 for a base M1 Air in Adelaide! $500 will only get you Intel here.
 
I initially also bought a Magic Keyboard for my iPad Pro m4 and use it from time to time. At the same time, I use my iPad mainly with the folio as a normal iPad as it should be for me. As a multimedia device, it is simply the most fun. For real work it is not really suitable for me, maximum in an emergency.

I don’t have a Mac or a keyboard. I use my M2 iPad Pro as a tablet, but it gets used as a tablet for absolutely everything but then I am retired and don’t do any heavy work on it.

The big iPad I find best as a tablet, my smaller 11 is my portable and prefer to use it with the keyboard but the ASK is very light so it can be used tablet mode too just by folding over.
 
So far I’ve only used them as tablets, 12.9, 9.7, and currently the current mini which is 8.3” and I’m really liking.

I’m seriously considering replacing a 15 year old computer with an iPad with a keyboard, and can’t decide on a screen size.

Even the 11” feels kind of hard to type on next to my mini or a 9.7”. 13 is better as a PC, buuuuut I dunno.

But the Magic Keyboards seem neat if they last.
