Mine seems about as good as they get. No noticable defects, I wish the screen itself was a little "blacker" so the contrast looked a little better in the light but I'm probably nit picking.

I hate to bump this thread, but it's not worth starting a whole new topic on this. I had an Air 1 with horrible yellow screen and book spine that I took in to get replaced, and the replacement had it too, so Apple actually let me turn around and exchange it for a new Air 2! For the most part I'm satisfied with the screen compared to Air 1, but some things stand out.

I have a very slight spine on the left. You may not even see it on the pictures. I probably never even would've known it was there if the Air 1 didn't have so many problems. Also, there's very slight light bleed in what seems to be the same corner they all seem to have light bleed. The spine kind of gets on my nerves, but I went back to the Apple Store models all seemed to have a little bit as well, not too pronounced. I don't think it's worth playing the exchange lottery, too much hassle after having the Air 1. I also only really see a 'shadow' on the margin when there's some black text on a white screen. I wish I never sold my old iPad 4, though. What do you guys think?

I have no problem with colors, but I do have trouble with touch calibration. Does anybody else has problems clicking on small buttons?

Example: Real Racing 3, in the main screen when I try to lower the "Free Gold" banner on the top right corner (landscape). The touch is a bit missaligned vertically with where I really want to click. I need to touch a bit above of the button to actually hit the button.

I think over time my Air 2 has developed a book-spine effect down the left hand side. When I first got my Air 2 I checked the screen carefully, and thought I'd gotten lucky with a perfect screen. Six months later, I constantly notice the grey shadow (especially when reading black text on white backgrounds). Has anyone else's screen gotten worse over time?

What do you guys think?
The effect is noticible to me in the pictures, so I'd imagine they're more noticable in person.

I considered exchanging mine, but the hassle of doing exchanges (and not being guaranteed a better screen) put me off. Additionally, I'd heard that due to how unrepairable the iPad is, there's a high chance it'll end up in the bin.

I try to care about the environment, and the thought of a 99% perfect iPad ending up in landfill isn't great. I might give it to a relative with less discerning eyesight, if it continues to bother me.

I swapped my Air 2 out at the weekend for a screen issue. If you applied minimal pressure to the iPad - normal holding or tapping the screen would show up a small area of distortion with something pressing against the screen from behind. I noticed a small lighter area approx 8mm square had appeared through time at this spot.
The replacement is perfectly uniform, as good as the original and the only distortion I see if on the right hand side with handling the iPad which seems to be the norm from what I have seen. The speaker vibration doesn't seem as strong either but it is still there and that was never an issue for me anyway as I typically use headphones.

I ended up swapping mine out because the distortion was getting on my nerves anyway. It's a refurb, brown box, F serial, but the screen seems to be loads better than what I had before. I'm going to take it for a spin, hopefully I don't have to exchange it again.

They say that refurbished units are better than new ones because of the stringent inspections and requirements.

They're pretty good. That one turned out to actually have massive light bleed though, to the point where black looked dark pink. I actually ended up giving that one to my fiancé because she was using it and didn't notice, and I bought a new one that ended up being exchanged six times because of various issues (distortion for some, but vast majority had very visible dust under the screen when the unit was on). The whole thing has made me not want an iPad Pro.

I have the same problem. Also noticeably zero screen imperfections which are widely discussed here.

I'm considering the Mini 4. Man I hope that device won't have these issues. My 3 is perfect. I went through 3 iPhone 6's though and am hoping my 6s is perfect like my Mini 3...

My iPad Air 2 seems to have a good screen, to my eyes at least. Picked up a mini 4 today and it seems like the air 2 has a "cooler" screen than the mini 4. The whites on webpages look whiter with the smallest blue tint to the, while on the mini 4 they are a "duller" white

My Mini 3, iPhone 5c, they are duller in white as well. However my iPhone 6 was more bluish.

I guess the Mini 4 will be more similar to the 3 in screen than the Air 2. I wonder if this is uniform or if it just depends on which manufacturer made the screen?

My Air 2 has one little dead pixel in the corner of the screen, should I take it to Apple?

Same here. My iPad Air 2 has a very minimal book spine and otherwise beautiful, bright white (on the cool side) screen. My mini 4 has a warmer white screen with no irregularities that I can discern. I'm happy with both devices and I'm very picky with screens. My iPhone 6 has a good screen that is cool white with a minimal smudge around the battery indicator which I think most of 6 devices to some degree, have so I never thought it was worth trying to exchange.
