Who has a 15" MBP and a ruler?

A bit of an unusual question...

How far is it from the bottom of the keyboard to the edge of the case? ie. How wide is the wrist rest?

I have an older CoreDuo (not Core2Duo) machine but I assume it's the same on both.

It's 11.6cm.

Mine is also 4.5 inch from the bottom of the keyboard area to the edge of the MBP (wrist rest area). I included the ridge of the keyboard areas from the main surface.

Edit: If you are concerned about the big wrist area, you can get ILap. It fits ver nicely with MBP and has a comfortable cushion for the wrist rest area.

This is probably all going to be academic after I've been using the MBP for a while, I'm sure I'll get used to the wrist rest, regardless of how big it sounds! 😱
