Finally was able to get my sister a replacement, and the first thing I even noticed without hearing or reading of the issue was the retina display seemed kinda yellowish. So I looked it up and compared, and the phone has a yellow tint on the entire screen. I can only take pics using an iPhone 3G so it would look fuzzy though.

This is what yellow screens look like

Take it to the apple store, they will give you a new one.

Damn, took like 6 times to get one with actual issues, I cant see them giving me one because the screen is yellow. It will magically turn white because everything is perfect at the Apple stores.

There were issues with this at launch of iPhone 4 ( yellowish spots and stuff)
People said it was due to glue under screen, because of the fast production. For many the issue disappeared = after few days though when it dried

I cant believe people still post this. After it's been clarified over and over again.

Needless to say it isn't glue. You need a new phone. Yellow all over means new phone. Clear with a few blotches is glue. Glue represents less then 1% of yellow screen cases.

I only ever think I have a yellow screen when I read one of these threads. Lol, it's psychological for me. But in all seriousness cases of blue tone and yellow tone screen variations happen and most people are able to get replacements.

Make an apple appointment and see what a tech says. Or at least take it and compare it directly to another iPhone. That's the only way you know for sure.

I had it compared to an iPod touch 4 generation and the iPod was very "calm" blueish the 4 is yellow and warm

ever since i received my iphone 4 at launch i wondered if mine was tinted yellow, and the other day i compared it to my friends "newer" iphone and there it was, mine was yellow while his was a cool blue. (compared at the same brightness)

id rather have the blue tint, wonder if i should take it in...

EDIT: just checked my moms, hers is blue as well

ya idk if ima exchange it or just deal with it until June. Your eyes will adjust. The thing is, is that i noticed it was yellow without ever reading such a thing. The retina display didnt look as nice. and the black seems like a dark grey even

No, it means a warmer color temperature. Warmer = better color reproduction compared to a cool blue. It's a matter of preference too. Get your facts straight.

Bought iPhone on Verizon launch day. After taking it home, I compared it with my AT&T iPhone 4 and there was definitely a yellow tint. Took it to the Apple store the next day and they exchanged it, even though the manager didn't want to saying that the yellow tint would go away.

My replacement also had a slight tint, but that went away after a couple of days (so now I wonder if my original's tint would have gone away too).

Very true! It's really only when you compare it with a screen that is too blue that it looks yellow. It's not yellow, just a more neutral than we're generally used to with poor quality and/or poorly calibrated screens like the TN screens on Apple laptops or cheaper desktop displays.

it's still a preference though...and I know many who prefer a colder color profile.

Wrong. Stop kidding yourself. I love people making stuff up to try and defend apple. I'm not talking about a slightly warm tone, I'm talking about a yellow, dingy screen with significatly reduced brightness. Its a defect. 100%.

I purchased 2 Verizon iPhones yesterday, 1 32GB and 1 16GB. My phone's screen(32GB) looked just like my AT&T one nice and blue. When I went to setup my wife's phone(16GB) I noticed right away that it looked yellowish. I handed the phone to my wife to see if she would notice. She said something about it within 20 seconds. She doesn't usually notice things like that either. Guess I will be taking her's in to the Apple Store for a replacement. Glad I'm not the only one who has this problem.

I noticed it was yellow without ever comparing it to anything. gonna take it in next week. post your results here

also is it normal for the water sensor in the headphone jack to be half white/half silver?

You need to be more more precise with your description. That's not what you said in your original post. 100%.

Gonna take it in. What should i say exactly?

Also the battery is at 89%. With like 32 mins of usage

When I take it in should I compare it to other phones in store.

Also what if the guy keeps saying it's normal?

Thank you all.

I already exchanged my iPhone 4 twice at AT&T. Still yellow. I will need to take a 4 hour trip to the closest apple store. :(

I just exchanged for the second time right now and this one is more yellow! White looks yellow and yellow looks orange. Lol.

Ridiculous. Try and do a retail swap if possible. Im guessing the white or black box phones all have screen rejects from people who returned the AT&T iPhone4

Is it also normal to lose 30% battery in an hour of use? By use I mean facebook twitter. That's it. No wifi. Just 3G.

What do you mean white or black box?

THe phones you get from the Genius'. They are usually in a small white box, sometimes black. Go for a retail boxed phone.

Oh ok. So I would tell them I want a retail one?
