I think they're all brand new.

You luck. My replacement is a yellow tint as the original purchased one was a defect. I went to apply store but they refused to replace me for the reason was no technical defect. Disappointment with Apply.

Was this sent from your iPhone?

left more yellow tinted, the right richer in blue and white calibration is much more defined and rich.

the replacement I tried for the left yellowish phone had the same yellow tint so i did not accept it.
will maybe give it some time and possibly swap it out if it really bothers me.

I finally got rid of my yellow tint because the genius i had said he went through 30 phones and every one had a yellow tint. He then opened a brand new one for me which was blue tinted....except my brand new one has a tiny gap in the front top of the screen. Keeping this though bc almost every refurb has a yellow tint.

:(

i just got my iphone 4 replaced for the very first time. goodbye launch day iphone :(

but anyways, just got back from the apple store. compared to my brothers and dads iphone 4, my screen is slightly yellow. its not as yellow as the one samven posted but its somewhat noticeable. I tried taking comparison pics with my oldest brothers iphone 4 but you can't see the difference on camera, so im guessing its not too noticeable.

but anyways, when i dont have an iphone to compare it to, i really can't tell the different unless im on the sms screen or websites. i do prefer the blue screen though. my problem is, do i risk getting a screen thats alot more yellow (mine is just slightly warm) or just tough it out and get used to it (i can't lie though, im not happy with it right now).

It seems that alot of people who got it replaced ended up with a yellower screen and that the percentage of people who got it replaced for a blue cool screen is pretty slim.

help?

After having my original iPhone 4 replaced several times for various issues (overheating battery, dead pixels, etc), I've come to the conclusion that all of the refurbished (5K serial numbers) have the yellow-tinted screens.

Do Verizon iPhones have the yellow-tint screen out of the box? I remember hearing initial iPhone 4s had screens sourced from LG, but currently iPhone 4 screens are being produced by several different companies like Sharp.

Maybe the switch in manufacturers is the cause for the change of screen quality.

So have you learned to live with your yellow screen? While i like the blue screen, i remember how piercing it is in low light conditions.

is your screen lightly yellow or REALLY REALLY noticeable?

After dealing with a screen with dead pixels, I've learned to live with the yellow screen as long as all the pixels are functional.

Mines a bit yellow and it doesn't bother me one bit. It's a phone... And I'll have a new one in a year.

Blue or yellow... Your phones do the EXACT same thing. And I personally think the yellowish one makes the Retina display look much better. I've compared them myself.

No. Yellow makes pictures look better. other than that, its trash. look at my above pictures earlier in the thread. Yellow screens suck.

Name one thing your blue iPhone can do that a yellowish one can't.

It's all preference. Just because you like something one way, doesn't mean everything else 'sucks'. Stop being ignorant.

I never said anything about that. I said yellow screens suck. Because they do. Find one iPhone at the Apple with a yellow screen. Look at my above link on page 2. That yellow screen worked the same as the blue one but who would ever keep that? Your 1 out of the 100 who are contempt with yellow. I also know if you had the option to get a white screen, you would in a second

You wont persuade anybody that the left screen is normal.

Come on dude. They both look fine. Just stop comparing  .

mines not to THAT extent. Mine is also not as yellow as the picture applenewton posted. Its just a TAD bit yellow.

After a few hours, I couldn't even tell that its yellow unless i remembered that its warmer than my first warm or read this thread lol.

the phones above are your eyes playing tricks. A yellow screen is like the link I posted, and even slightly yellower. But its a very noticeable which you can notice without comparing

oh. yours was REALLY bad. mines not even close to that. if your was 100% yellow, mine is probably 10%. Im in the process of figuring out if the screen i have is actually just neutral instead of cold blue or piss yellow. im starting to warm (no pun) up to the screen but i still miss my cold blue at times.

So I got my iPhone replaced again at the apple store. And to my misbelief, the screen is as white as my first iPhone. It is a referbished one, but nothing seems to be wrong with it so I can't complain. Maybe apple has finally started fixing this problem, or maybe I just got lucky. My last 2 replacement iPhone were yellow (one more than the other) but had them replaced due to other issues. Also, a bit off topic, that whole thing where only 5K serials are referbished are bogus. One of my replacements started with an 80 and it was refebished (could tell could someone saved the SHSH blobs from an old iOS).

both phones set at 100%. But your phone isn't meant to be yellow. It should be as white as the displays and look just like the phones you see at the Apple store. Sure every screen is different, but if the phones they are advertising have a crisp white screen, they should ALL be like that.

There is no way to argue that.

And people with yellow screens, keep going to Apple. THEY WILL replace it. I was told by 8 different geniuses that the yellow tint is not normal at all. Even 2 guys who were shadowing from Cupertino at the SF store said it.

dang, u make me want to swap it out now hahaha. But my question is, will they? Like i said before, my screen isn't as close to yellow as yours. mine is in-between the white and yellow. not noticeable also u compare it directly to a cool white screen.

i did notice that when turned to an angle, the screen has more of a predominant yellow tinge.

im just afraid that the screen isn't yellow enough to them to warrant a replacement or that my next one has a yellower screen.

This is really annoying to me because I got the iPhone 4 shortly after release.. It was great, bur recently I was having issues hanging up a call. I would push end and it wouldn't "Hang up" the call.. I repeated pushed, but it didn't disconnect until the other person hung up..

My swap has this yellow screen. My original did not. I noticed it pretty quickly, but wondered if it was a setting. I had to drive 2 1/2 hrs each way to an Apple store for the swap.. Now I have to again?

If it is a yellow where you noticed it within minutes of getting it, then you shouldnt settle for it. Don't let my opinion change your mind. There are many users who are fine with the yellow tint. But yes they will exchange it. Only if its noticeable to a certain degree.

Sorry just saw this, If you noticed it right away then yes that should not be acceptable. My original 4 was perfect until the mic broke. I noticed my replacement yellow tint within seconds. I even noticed this without ever hearing of this issue plus I never read about it.

After I noticed it, I went online and looked it up. 50+ threads on the issue.
