Sorry, I'm not into fashion and can't name the 20+ different shades of each major color.

Even the paint chips at Home Depot look like different shades of green, blue, tan, etc. even though each of the 100+ bundle of paint chips have an exciting name.

I love how the people on this forum have nothing better to talk about besides slight color differences on tiny buttons. 🙄😀

If it wasn't taking my new Apple TV 17 weeks to sync, I wouldn't be here posting in threads talking about colour [in]differences of buttons.

Right side looks more yellowish.

And I am assuming the light is symmetrical about a vertical line or you used the left (or right) side of both and flipped one.

The pixel 7 across and 7 down from upper-left-hand corner is 122/210/84 RGB. The pixel 8 across and 7 down is 144/206/84 RGB. The thing of more red, a bit less green, and similar blue is repeated on a few more pixels I looked at.

Can someone please check out this thread to help me out.

I think it could resolve the issue's I'm experiencing detailed in this thread.

You could try swapping/copying the iTunes.rsrc file I mentioned earlier from the old one into the new one.

Ctrl-click on the app and show package contents.

I did that, the whole thing went mad.

It didn't display any traffic lights and everything was scrambled.

Sorry, I didn't notice you'd told me to do that 😱

Boy really! I bet the guys at Apple take bets on the things that users will "imagine" next. They must have a really good laugh at us quite often!

Same problem !

Hi guys,

I as well updated iTunes to 8.1 and all colors (cd and dvd covers, UI of iTunes, Traffic lights, etc...) are kinda dull and shiny, but not rich.

I though it was my glasses that are dirty, so I cleaned them but same problem. Cleaned my screen, restarted my iMac, and no... same issue.

It is very disturbing and I found it hard on the eyes. It is great to know I am not the only one with this issue. For info, I do not have a theme installed.

I have this too! You're not alone!

I recently noticed this, and Googled it, and found this thread!

My iTunes 8.2 has duller Traffic Light buttons in comparison to other windows in OS X, such as Safari 4 and Finder...

Personally, I think that the whole of iTunes looks a little dull and, washed out?
And the pictures posted have this difference... But to be sure i'll post my own:

Ha ha. That's what I was thinking. Looking so closely at these traffic light comparisons is giving me a headache! D:

This is strange I didn't notice this till I read this thread... Is this what happened to the poster? Did he/she also read this some where?

because I can't image a person sitting behind OS X and with a startled look, jumping out of their chair and screaming oooooohhhhh noooooooooooooooeeeessssss11111 the colorsss have changed what shoould I do? MY LIFE IS SOOO DOOOOMED

Sits back down and then makes a thread Who has "dull" traffic lights on iTunes 8.1?

Ok let's get to the bottom of this. I don't know why I only thought of this now. So I saved Louis12345's picture and used Digital Color Meter to measure the colors (check your Utilities folder). The results??? He's right!

iTunes 8.2 is a different color than the Safari 4.0 and Finder window buttons. Ok, so it's settled. Why does it happen? I don't know but apparently it is true. For reference the pics are iTunes (top left) Safari (top Right) and Finder (Bottom left).
