It's obvious that the 5c is a 5 variant or revision just like the 5s... Nothing pathetic, really.

It is not a 'variant like the 5s'. It's the iPhone 5 with a slightly upgraded front camera and a slightly larger battery. ALL the other internals are the same. It's a variant of the 5 for sure.

The 5s, however, is a completely different phone with the exception of the external design...new processor, new camera, new home button hardware (obviously), new co-processor, new practically everything.

The iPhone 5c has a totally different exterior so if that's the case your whole post makes no sense. The 5s has the exact same aluminum body as the 5. It's a variant of the 5. Even Apple knows this hence naming it the 5s!! Nice try, though.

I was tempted to get the 5c and rock that for like 6 months and then get the 5s just to say I've had them all.

But no seriously I just got the 5s. I imagine the 5c is just like my 5 in a case

The 5c was a real 'eye opener' for me. I've had the 2g, the 3g, the 3gs, and the 4 (multiples of a couple of them). I love iPhones! I bought into the rumors and was expecting the 5c to have a significantly lower non-contract price. At $550 for a 5 with a manufacturing shortcut I had to say "No thanks.". I now have a Nexus 4 and a Nexus 7. I bought them both for $520 and I couldn't be happier with either of them. Even at a year old the 4 kicks the crap out of the 5C in most categories and the 7 absolutely obliterates the iPad Mini. In case that didn't sink in - the higher capacity versions of both a phone and a tablet for $30 less than the 16 gig Phone 5c. Apple isn't remotely worth their premium to me anymore. With people eagerly purchasing absolutely anything they put out I doubt they'll even have to be worth the extra $ anytime soon. Bummer really.

I've had all previous iPhones. Got my 5s, but I won't get the 5c; just don't see the point.

I, too, have had every iPhone since the very original. I upgrade every year. I'll be getting a 5S soon, but won't get a 5C since I don't see the point of it. Just because Apple came out with two different models doesn't mean I have to get both to continue my "streak" of upgrading every year. Plus, I plan on going through the whole number, then "S" iPhone upgrades.

That's me. 5c is the first one I am skipping. Though it's the first time apple have taken a previous iPhone and given it a makeover. I already have the iPhone 5. So for most part have a 5c, minus the colour.

It's released at the same time of the 5S, why would anyone, notably one who buys every iPhone model, be interested in a less posh version of the same phone?
