Who on here the new music app on their iphones? Is there a way to get the old simple ipod way
I really hate it, i buy my songs from itunes but i do not want itunes music subscription it seems they want to force us to change. Im currently not jailbroken but do they have an music app like before and still be able to sync to itunes?

I hate it too. I won't hate it so much if it wasn't for the slowdown bug.

I'd say most of us here judging by all the other posts about it.

One of my issues with it is all the overlapping text on top of artwork.

That and it takes longer than it needs to for me to change between artists, albums, songs and playlists.
One more reason my iPod Classic is my main music player and not my phone or previous iPod touch (though iOS 3/4/5/6 had great music apps).

There are some things I love about it, but some things I really hate. The interface is not the worst thing IMO with the addition of streaming and radio options - as well as the icloud library option it was bound to get more complicated.

What I think is really bad is the music app causes really bad battery drain, if you are using Apple Music and not the on-board music files. I find it much worse than my tunein radio or other internet radio apps, I never used Spotify or any of the other streaming apps so can't speak to them. Has anyone compared the above streaming apps to Apple Music regarding battery drain??

I'm on the fence.
Say what you want it is still worlds better then the broken mess of the <8.4
I don't understand why it doesn't have a landscape mode considering the 6 Plus is their flagship phone.
But at least it doesn't switch to some random artist's album view when in landscape.

I love the up next feature but it came at the expense of album details.
Meaning, if a song comes up in my playlist, and I decide I want to hear another song from that album, I used to be able to select the list button and see all songs from it.
Now it shows the list of what is coming up next in the shuffle.
If I had to choose, it would be up next but I used that album list all the time.

You can still get to the album if you wanted to. While in the full screen player (top half album art bottom half the controls) tap the three dots in the bottom right corner (that's next to the shuffle and repeat buttons) A pop up menu comes up and tap the album art at the top of the menu.

(See image. Note my image is from iOS 9 but it's the same idea in iOS 8.4, it's just been cleaned up and made bigger in iOS 9)

Wow! Awesome! Thanks so much. I can usually figure that stuff out but would never have thought to look there.
