You have no reason to feel bad. The iBook is a great computer. The point of me starting this thread was not to say that iBooks suck. It was rather to illustrate my preference for the older glossy palmrest instead of the newer matted plastic one. Trust me you will love it.

I haven't read through all the posts in this thread. I've had my iBook almost one year, and I think it's a nice looking, quality machine. The all-white is sleek and clean. The design is smooth and simple. Any windos machine now looks clunky and especially unattractive with all those stickers on them.

My wife and daughter have older clamshell iBooks and those are rock solid. My father has a newer white iBook and that does feel less rugged. But it isn't a huge difference. My PowerBook on the other hand is a Pismo which is very tough - I've dropped it three times and it is still running fine.

The white plastic is what makes apple so cool in my opinion. You practically radiate coolness when you pull out an iBook. Of course, with a PowerBook you exude radical coolness!
