Who invented the Facetime beeping?

I understand it's a 'distinctive' sound, but as far as sounds go, it has to be the most annoying one that an iPhone makes with regular use.

Who thought the awful panic-attack-style beeping was a good idea?
Anyone else agree this is completely dumb?

Yup, terribly annoying. As is the fact that Siri's ding tone cannot be disabled.

I find it very annoying. I don't use FaceTime enough though for it to be that big if an issue

marimba is the most annoying iPhone sound i think. People seriously need to change their ringtones.

It's the same sound that Apple has been using since iChat circa 2003. Video chat sound with the mic feedback. I loved iChat. You could send huge files to your friends via iChat. No need for those Peer to peer sites.

The only time I don't like it is when you try and FaceTime someone from across the house and then don't pick up cuz they can here that your calling.

Just came here and looking for way to get rid of that **** beeping crap !.
checking cydia there is defo app to get rid of that ****

Cydia app : FaceTime ringing theme for iPhone 4 ...
Status : Working flawlessly on iP5 ..
Case : Problem Solved !

Agree with that but Apple make it harder to add new ringtones compared to other devices. No fan of iTunes here!

I do wish they would allow us to pick another tone for Facetime. I use it all the time and the existing tone sucks.
