I will if someone sponsors me. I'll put up an iAd and you can make money off of people watching me open up my iPhone![]()
This is as good a place as any to ask this question: what is the deal with all of these unboxing videos and photo sets whenever people get new Apple merchandise? I've never understood why this is done. I have a friend that always posts a couple dozen pictures every time he gets something new from Apple, which always leaves me asking 'WTF'? I love my Apple products, but can't imagine doing something like that. When did this become a ritual?
I am. I made about $50 in adsense revenue for the iPad.
The only value in an unboxing video is when it's received before the general public gets the device of interest. Posting an unboxing video of the iPhone 4 on Thursday or after is just plain stupid.
If you get one before due to errant shipment or because your publication reviews tech and they sent you one, then great. As of Thursday everyone will be unboxing their own and you'd look like a total dork posting a video about it.
If you have a video that is popular enough, you will get an email asking you if you'd like to sign up for YouTube's revenue sharing program. Then you begin making $$
not to hijack a thread but its been 3 months since then and google still hasnt accepted my account. there customer service is crap too.
Did you do an unboxing video of the iPad on the first day it launched? Slightly after?
You need a viral video(mine got over 5,000 views in the first 30 minutes) or a lot of subscribers page vows and no copy writer content on your channel to be accepted.not to hijack a thread but its been 3 months since then and google still hasnt accepted my account. there customer service is crap too.
Yea same for me. They sent me an email three months ago saying they wanted to do the ad revenue crap and then I had to agree, then they said theyd have to review it for copyrighted material, (which the video does not have) and they never replied.
I'm more interested in using it than taking pictures or video of it. No doubt they'll be 100 people doing it trying to be first anyway, so doesn't really matter.
I'll probably just check out jon4lakers and SoldierKnowsBest's videos...they usually do the best videos anyways on this type of stuff.

When I put my actual channel to be considered it took like 3 months too. I was rejected.
