I want to see reviews, but this is silly on my part because

A) I’ve already ordered them

and

B) the first week of reviews is by grinning Apple shills who will quantify the sound quality, mic and ANC as “better than ever”, “brilliant”, “wow!” and other exacting scientific terms used by experienced audio engineers 👀

If you decide to go for the 2, just sell your pro 1. I sold mine for $100 and they have plenty of life and love left for the next user. The used market is very strong for these little buds.
Hm...that is an interesting idea!

I ordered after I got my 14PM…figured I’d give my original Pros to kid. 9/30- 10/7 delivery.

Mine will be delivered Friday. Can’t wait! Almost as exciting as the 14PM delivery!

Back when gen 1 were released, there were other models that had volume controls, but not all, so it wasn’t as widespread a feature as it has been for the last year or so. It’s easy to take it for granted knowing the market’s flooded with feature-rich models now.

Anyway, it sounds like you needed to adapt & be more familiar with your volume/environments - it’s easy to adjust with Siri: just say ‘hey Siri, volume 64’ or ‘turn it up/down’ & it changes. Knowing your regular surroundings & which volume level’s appropriate means you don’t need to change it anywhere as often.
That's what I love about my Beats Fit Pro, you can configure "Long Press" for volume up and down. My APP unfortunately won't stay in my right ear so I will stick with the BFP which I find very comfortable.

I love my APP and may have upgraded if APP2 had USB-C.

Extra battery life, better ANC, volume control, Bluetooth 5.3 are all good reasons to upgrade.
I figure I'll upgrade next year when they're expected to get the USBC case, also by then firmware kinks will be ironed out and by then they'll also probably hover around $180 on places like Amazon like the APP1s had been for a long time now.

Or by YouTube reviewers calling them a “major fail “ in hopes of getting more clicks

My Day 1 APP‘s now don’t hold a great charge (and even the charging case has diminished), and “unfortunately” I never had the crackling sound so couldn’t get it exchanged. I’m ready to upgrade, although I missed the pre-order window. I have a good less travelled Apple Store near my work so can easily swing by - I think I’ll try and wake up tomorrow AM and order for Store Pickup. Do ppl recall if in-store pickup orders also open up at 5am on release day? You can’t purchase that way now…

If not, You might try to just buy some in the store

I was able to get it easily online. Happened to wake up around 5:15am PT, and it was available. Ordered on the Apple Store app for in-store pickup, and was easy-peasy.

I may have been able to just walk-in and buy one but didn’t want to chance it. Especially with the Apple Watch Ultra being released, it was a really busy Fri afternoon at my local Apple Store in LA
