Who or what is this, on my network? I'm using a password-protected Time Capsule wi-fi network.

Is there any Windows PC's around your house or maybe even at a neighbors that is very close to your house? That's the only thing I can think of.

Don't be let down though, with the experts on here, I bet you will get an answer/solution ASAP.

    here you go !

your brother printer network adapter is named by default as brn001xxxxxx and is not recognized correctly by the OS as a printer, rather as a system connected to the network.

You can go to http://theBRNcode to access the printer's web management interface. It's annoying that OSX can't hide a specific device from the list.

If that printer has a card reader in it, you could use that entry to access the card reader. My HP printer is that way.
