No thx to OP. The iPhone 4 was a dud. Probably worst iPhone of all time. Forget antenna gate. The real issue I had with it was proximity sensors which kept activating itself. So couldn't make a real phone call unless I was standing still and not moving so as not to activate the prox sensor and accidentally hanging up on someone

I'm thinking that I might just keep using iPhone 5 until there is no more iOS support from Apple.

Apple is barely adding water-resistance and wireless charging. They never added an IR blaster or projector. How the hell do you expect them to add HologramTime and remote control to everything when Apple is barely keeping pace with Android manufacturers who had those features over three years ago?

My, have you changed so much!

Is anyone else longing for a MAJOR big league upgrade?

I'm talking about a throw it back Steve Jobs iPhone 4 upgrade!

Does anyone remember how huge the iPhone 4 was?

Don't get me wrong. I love my 6S.

But I hope they give us something to get excited about.

Maybe:

1) HologramTime so that the person can be there in the room

2) Complete home control of AC, lights, locks, garage, TV, electronics, shower temperature, coffee machine, all cars, etc

3) Apple concierge service - anything you need delivered or scheduled. Complimentary with iPhone 7 through an app suite.

For example,

if I need to get a haircut, I should be able to pick any salon and schedule an appoint from an easy to use app.

New lite blue or dull black color would do it for me to buy a new iPhone 7!

Those posts are just the expected hyperbole. The rumored updates sound great to me. Although in just about a month we will know: fly or fall. I don't think it's the latter.

New color(s) will sell along the 7 being faster, better camera and maybe 3GB RAM like that of it flagship competitors! Buyer love new looks!

Not a case of "expecting" them to. More a case of expressing interests in innovative ideas. Somebody's gotta put those ideas out there, right? The point is, when ideas get stagnant, some sit there whining about why there aren't enough innovative ideas, others help contribute some!
(...just a thought!) ;)

Some do "whine" a lot for sure.

Even Samsung took out the ir blaster; which I guess people think that's what innovation is. Apple is slower at adding new innovation, because once a feature is there it's there to stay. Unlike the innovation in android, which seems to center around cpu cores sometimes and try it, if it doesn't work take it out.

->The imminent removal of the physical silent mode switch
->Siri lift to talk sensor.
->Greeting cards-The app let you select and format greeting cards using photos from your photo library or camera, with customizable text.Apple dropped it shortly after "inventing" it
->The home button has switched double press functions and lock screen functions at least 4 times.
->Double click on the home screen was music an then it went to single click and no function and now it's quick access to Wallet. On the home screen or throughout the os it was double click for music controls and then went to went tasking

Need I say more?

Android does a LOT more than iOS.Naturally it requires more processing to function

EDIT-Sammy removed the IR blaster as it was redudntant

I think the next major upgrade will be in screen resolution. Like the rumored AMOLED screen for the iPhone 8 (or 7s?). Any ways I may have to hold off on upgrading. until the screen resolution improves.

Yes you need to say more. So they removed an app and are evolving their designs. You missed the point completely. Siri raise to talk is not going away, putting the phone in silent mode is not going away. It's not like the removable battery, as card, ir blaster, force touch, Live Photos on android, not to mention the lousy finger print readers until Apple forced everyone to up that game

You are conflating evolving changes with on iOS, with the "try it out kitchen sink" approach found on competitors.
