So I have of a bit weird problem. I used iPhone 12 x pro for few days and saw it was to big so I returned it and ordered regular 12 pro. Now as I am waiting for it and using my 3 year old iPhone X, I am seeing that the phone is still going strong, sure the battery is at 88% and it’s not as snappy, and camera is not even close. But honestly I feel like I can squeeze out another year... especially since I am not commuting to work. Anyone else doing the same thing? It’s definitely not as snappy anymore, I will still be wanting iPhone 12 but can’t justify it lol

Im in the same boat. I checked out the 12 pro / 12 pro max at BB and I wasn't blown away. However, I do like taking photos and I enjoy just using my iphone and not a dedicated DSLR / mirrorless so this is my best bet. I am torn because I could use the upgraded camera system for sure but the X isn't that bad.

Good luck with your decision. I was on another thread where people were considered picking up the 11 pro / 11 pro max if the price is right so I may go that route and hope for the next iPhone to have the smaller notch, 120 Hz display, etc.

My X is still working great. The 12 mini will be my next phone when I can find a really good deal or, if I can't, then the 13 mini (assuming there is one). The X is just a bit too big for me.

I've had the X since launch day. I bought the 12 Pro Max just to see what I thought about it... There's no way I can go back to the X. The size of the screen, the battery life, and 5G (yes I have it where I live) are all just too good for me to go back to the X

I switched from an Xs to the Pro 12 (so apologies for being slightly outside the thread criteria). To be honest, aside from the slight change in design it does exactly what my old phone does in daily use. There’s very little difference in all honesty and I’m not really even going out and about or travelling to take advantage of the camera. And that’s why I held off at launch and didn’t pre-order.

I only decided last week to upgrade in large part to cheer myself up a bit because this year has been so dull.

Whilst the 12 Pro is a great phone, I totally get why anyone with an X or Xs, that’s still going strong, would hold off for a little longer (my last upgrade was 6s to Xs, so I’m generally someone who needs to see a good reason to upgrade my phone).

Returned my 12 Pro Max and 12 Mini and kept my Xs. Honestly, I missed it somehow and I've never missed old tech like some people oddly do (usually buyer's remorse).

Honestly having 3D Touch is something I missed on the 12. Shame they also artificially neutered it on the Series 4 watch.

The 12, especially the mini, had horrible PWM. The display flickered at like 90%, which is ridiculous. Gave me a headache to use, quite honestly, and it wasn't confirmation bias...it was real. Apple needs to figure out a way to increase the frequency of the PWM or bring out micro-LED already. Nausea city, for me at least, with the current 12 displays.

I have my doubts about Apple bringing 120hz display in the next iPhone but definitely want to see a smaller notch and much bigger battery in the iPhone 13 Pro Max, hopefully we get a nice juicy 4100mAh battery at least, no way am I going backwards from the 3900mAh in my 11 Pro Max!

Yea, I do want a new toy, i had iPhone x for three years, but the way I use my phone right now, it’s kinda hard to justify 1000 bucks..

I loved my X, I truly did but the battery life was aggravating. I love my 12 Pro jus alone because of the battery and my pics are so much better.

I had the X and it was my favorite phone. I did hand that one down to my grandson and he is super happy with it. I got the 12 Pro and really like it. My only cons are - I prefer the rounded edges and it is quite a bit heavier than the X. I’ve been fortunate that I haven’t experienced the connectivity issues that others have mentioned in other threads.

I love my X. It's such a beautiful phone, I decided not to sell it back. I tried the 12 pro, the 12 mini, and the 12. I think I'll stick with the 12. The tallness of it compared to the X is a little annoying, but it is lighter. I do prefer the round edges of the X, it's more comfortable.

I’m very happy with my X but just recently (can’t be sure, maybe with the 14.1-2 update?) the battery life got cut in half. I rarely use my phone and always got 2-3 days out of a charge. Now, all of a sudden, I barely get 24 hours. This wasn’t gradual, it happened all at once (and of course, AppleCare is expired).

Still gonna keep the X, I’m retired and I can deal with it, but I’d be really pissed if I had to buy a new phone when this one isn’t that old and still works perfectly.

Well I have an XS Max that I plan on keeping another year. I tried the Pro Max and returned it as in general it’s not a big difference TBH.

Release day iPhone X 2017, bought iPhone Xs Max 2018, but kept iPhone X as backup.
2019 Xs Max was switched as backup (Not Pocket Friendly). Used X Until Release Of iphone 12.

Traded in Xs Max for 12 Pro. Moved X to backup.
Traded in X in For 12 mini. Couldn't resist!
I love the iPhone X, But I loved the size of the 12 mini...

I had the X and Xs Max. Loved both phones BUT the change in the modem from Intel to Qualcomm was the reason I wanted to upgrade. I live in a rural area and have lived with poor signal strength for years. Dropped calls and hunting for a signal was the norm for every phone I have had over the years - until this year. The 12 Pro (Husband's) and the 12 Pro Max (Mine) will hold a call with only one bar showing. Neither of us has had a call drop since we got them. So for me, Apple has finally made a phone that can hold a call in my remote area.

Upgraded to the iphone12 pro from the X and really wish I kept my X. Miss the size and feel. Don't miss the battery usage lol
