For years, I've considered Darth Vader the greatest villain of all time. He killed his subordinates poking fun at his ideals. He blew up an planet just to make a point. He killed his masters (both Jedi and Sith). And he dressed in black. Pure awesome was written all over that character...until Revenge of the Sith. The coolest villain ever, got turned into a angsty teen. Oh the humanity. That leaves top spot to...

Colt (Way of the Dragon). A villain so awesome, he doesn't need a last name.

Emperor Palpaltine. He single-handedly provoked a galactic civil war; brought down a Republic that had stood for 25,000 years; exterminated the Jedi; commissioned the construction of not one, but two Death Stars; and he can shoot lightning from his fingertips!

What a bad ass.

There is no competition, on the best villain. While's he's not a movie villian, I think everyone here would agree that the he was formed from the pit of hell to torture and inflict pain.

I'm talking about a soulless creature who's very visage could bring grown men to their knees and make them cry like a school girl. I'm talking about none other then...

No votes for Darth Vader!!!!

That's because Lucas turned the bad*** Man in Black into a whiny, angst riddled teen in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
First he screws with Hans' character, then he ruined an iconic villain. Hans shot first:cool:, not Greedo. He didn't shoot after being shot at, he solved a problem before it became a problem. That was the essence of his character: amoral and pragmatic. That was why Hans Solo was such a cool character...until the special edition.
I change my vote: George Lucas is the most vile villain of all time.:p

LOL.... after reading this, I agree. GL is the nastiest of the nasties, meanest of the means... Damn you George... Damn you!

Plenty great villains all ready mentioned and I have too many favorites to pick just one; thus my unofficial top 10, in no particular order... ;)

^^ Sweet Big Trouble in Little China pic up there! Zang.

What about Gary Oltman's character in The Professional? Gotta agree with Jaffa Cakes, though. The Wicked Witch was one mean bitch.
