Was just curious, after reading some post on the iPhone, who leaves their iPhone on all the time?

I always turn mine off before I go to bed, but from reading the post here, a lot of owners leave their iPhone on.

I've never turned mine off and don't really see any reason to.

I've turned mine off twice, both times when iSafari got all crash-tastic.

Just hold down the power button for 5 seconds and move the red slider to turn it off.

always on here, too. i got the habit of keeping my cell phone on all the time because i hated seeing voicemails show up without a corresponding entry in the missed calls list because the phone was off. i guess it doesn't matter with the iphone anymore because of visual voicemail, but i now use my iphone as my alarm clock as well so there really isn't any good time for me to switch it off anyway...

Both my partner and I turn ours off every night right before bed. All you need is one drunk in the family to know how useful the off feature is...

I want a system where I can okay calls from some callers to come through the phone from 11pm to 8 am but all other calls go right to voice mail. That would be killer.

That's why my friend calls at 2am? Oooh.

The other feature you like is available via VOIP. But that's not exactly the iPhone

    Off before bed.

Interesting. But why does one keep his/her iPhone on all the time?

The alarm part, I could see, but why else?

hmm, twas a joke. Generally speaking I don't turn my phones off. Although I do put them in Airplane mode if I have no service, or when I take the SIM out (ie at work). But to outright turn it off for any amount of time? Nope. I have restarted the phone a couple of time as I was having some odd reception issues.

there's no reason to turn mine off. no amount of incoming calls or alarms on my phone could wake me up from sleep, especially since i don't charge my phone in my bedroom. at the same time, i don't want to turn it off and not know if i've missed a call in my sleep or when i'm away.

Coming from some smartphones that don't let you turn them off I have just gotten use to always leaving it on.

Mine is always on, just like every other phone I have owned. You never know when that emergency call may come in.

Since the wife and I upgraded to the iphone (extra $40 on top of our regular AT&T bill), we decided to drop our land line, so our iPhones stay on all the time. The only people who called our land line were telemarketers anyway.

    Always on

But thanks for the reminder about Airplane mode... I don't like turning it off because of the time it takes to boot back on. But airplane mode would be perfect for a quite nights sleep. Thanks for making that connection...
