OK I'll chime in. I love my one button mice. One button is great for power users who use the keyboard for a bajillion commands. Don't see a need to change.

OOh, I hear that!
using my keyboard to the fullest extent is so much easier than having 2834134135 buttons.
I even have nimble violinist fingers and mice with more than 2 buttons give me trouble.

I <3 one button mouse. :)

I use my mighty mouse as single click, I bought it for double click,so I could replace my microsoft mouse, but Im now in love with single click! The only problem is windows cant handle control-clicks haha :p

I also love my one button mouse. It's so much more ... instinctual.

God. Is Control Clicking so hard, world?

you don't even have to ctrl+ click.. it's in the top menu bar thingiee! :p

Lazy bums with your RIGHT clicking and CONTROL clicking! I swear!
:D:D

Hey, to those who like it, more power to you.

But what really bothers me about the 1 button mouse is how it perpetuates the myth among PC users that macs *can't* use multibutton mice. I've heard so many PC users say that's a sticking point with them for using a mac... and then I just stare at them in disbelief for a moment before explaining that not only can you use multibutton mice with macs, they are plug and play, no driver installation needed...

So on that basis, I wish apple would do away with the thing once and for all.

They are...**points to Mighty Mouse**

I love the aesthetics of Apple mice, but one button isn't enough for games. Even Marathon had two firing modes per weapon, and newer games certainly aren't getting less complicated. Command-clicking existing in Blizzard games has been a true gift, but it is much simpler to just right click. Same thing with Safari: to open a link in a new tab, middle clicking is faster than command-clicking. I am very glad Apple released the Mighty Mouse; I think the Mac image is improved by an Apple multi-button mouse (even if I don't like the thing very much personally).

I have a Mighty Mouse and when I saw that they were getting rid of the One Button Mouse I zipped down to my AppleCentre and bought the very last one. I haven't used it much but it was very nice to use. Only thing I missed was scrolling my web pages - a little solidstate tracker in the middle of it would make it perfect.

I use Final Cut as my pro app. and 1 button is doing it just fine for me. My PC then again has
Right Click
Left Click
2 Side Left Clicks
Middle button
Push Down on scroller
Up and Down on scroller
Left and Right on Scroller

.....holy crap. lol

Heck no. I can't use a 1 button mouse. I have a Logitech MX1000 that's got a ton of buttons, and I could use a few more buttons!

I've got left/right click, back/forward, the 3 Expose functions and Dashboard programmed to buttons on the mouse. And I could certainly use at least 2 more buttons to control next/previous track in iTunes.

I love my apple bluetooth mouse. For regular use i find it easier to control then a too button mouse. I want apple to make a bluetooth mighty mouse maybe at MWSF :)

One button mouse sucks. BUT its GREAT for kids. My 2 yr old loves it as no menus pop up as with the old logitech mouse he used to use. Now he can just click with his whole hand. I had used the one button mouse for like a half an hour and was disgusted. Right clicking is a way of life.

I might be in the minority here, but I simultaneously love and hate all three Apple mice:

Apple Pro Mouse
Pros: Great shape. One button.
Cons: Stupid cord. No nipple-ball. Not extensible.

Apple Wireless Mouse
Pros: Great shape. One button. No cord.
Cons: No nipple ball. Not extensible.

Apple Mighty Mouse
Pros: Great shape. One button-configurable. Nipple ball. Extensible.
Cons: Stupid cord. Flawed right-click system (you can read about this elsewhere, like the Arstechnica report).

I just need one of each, I guess. I have a Pro Mouse, a Wireless is on the way, and maybe I'll get a Mighty for Xmas.

My 5 year old niece likes to use the hockey puck Apple mouse. It fits her hand quite well.

After about 10 years of using one button mice I sometimes find myself contorl-clicking while using my cheap 2-button mouse :p

Me, never liked it. I can't handle not having my scroll wheel and right click button. I was a Windows network support for a while, right click is essential. Holding down the command key just doesn't cut it, drives me insane on my ibook when I don't have my mouse hooked up.

iScroll 2 does wonders. I love having only one mouse button, but I use the contextual menus on occasion. Things like looking up a word in Dictionary, etc. So I have one mouse button, but two-finger scrolling and two-finger right-clicking. :D Linkety

I have recently become a one-button user. I have used two buttons for as long as I can recall - since I got a kensington device for my IIsi. I recently unplugged my logitech two button scroll mouse and plugged in the clear pro mouse that originally came with my PM G4. I love the thing. I'm not sure why I even tried it, but I actually like it. The clear is pretty as well - I wish Apple would have kept that clear look for their "two button".

not so much the one button that gets me its the lack of a scroll wheel that I have a problem dealing with
