why not?

You're missing out.

If I have to choose between an iPhone and jailbreak, I'll choose the jailbreak. :D

Oh wait, I need both.

I could care less about jailbreaking and screwing up my phone. I love the reliability and long battery life!! :D

hmmm, you do have a point.

Mine is reliable as well been running for months no reboot, save for updates which screws up my phones uptime.

It baffles the mind, such a great device only to be hampered with being in a jailed environment.

What are you guys talking about reliability

I been using a jaibroken phone for over a year without any problems

I used to be jail broken but found that the features that jail breaking allowed just weren't necessary.

quite a number of 'em.

bitesms
mcleaner/iblacklist
firewall ip
etc.

Wonderful choices.

My Jailbreak folder:
Loader (from using greenpois0n)
Cydia
Installous
MyWi 4.0

Winterboard
Truprint
BTstack mouse
BatteryInfoLite
MobileTerminal
BiteSMS

Customizations:
BiteSMS to Messages icon
Skyfire to Safari icon
Five Icon Dock
Infinifolders

SBSettings

Bolded=I use it sometimes
Bolded and Red=I use it all the time. I love it.
Green=EFFING AMAZING

If I were a teenager again, i'd probably be all about jailbreaking. I just don't have the time or interest these days.

I jailbreak for a handful of tweaks that greatly enhance my experience, not for free apps or eye candy.

MyWi
BiteSMS
No Lock Screen
No Spot
Fake Clock Up
My3G
SBSettings
Folder Enhancer
Phone Closer
Syncronicity
iBlacklist

and most importantly,
Phone and SMS Google Voice extensions

I'm going to wait to see what new features Apple releases with iOS5 before I make the choice to JB.

Guess all those other people having issues in the hacks forum are just jailbreaking it wrong ;)

what about all the issues people in this forum? don't assume the only issues people are having are from jailbreaking

Never claimed pure phones don't have problems ...only that they have fewer problems. I used to tweak and customize desktop computers all the time ...things going wonky comes with the territory.

It is possible. :) I always jailbreak my phones (2G, 3Gs, 4, + iPad) and never had any reliability or battery issues. The "secret" is patience. Wait until a confirmed reliable JB is out...
Having said that I could live without JB but why would I if I can easily reverse anything with a firmware restore?

My main reasons for JB:

SBSettings,
iFile,
iRealSMS,
MyWi
BiteSMS
Infiniboard
Infinidock
Infinifolders
RemoveBG
and a few more...

Takes but a few minutes

You dont have the time but yet you have time to post in a forum about a phone ;)

Its not just about eye candy. In the beginning I did spend countless hours on with changing the lockscreen with Typophone and HTC themes, sliders, icons, animated wallpaper, Barrel, FakeOperator etc.

However I now prefer the stock look and jailbreak my phone for the functional things such as:

SBSettings
SBAdblockToggle
BiteSMS
Springflash (hold down sleep button to quickly activate LED torch)
Lockinfo (emails and notifications on lockscreen)
PhotoAlbums+ (Allows you to create separate photo folders)
Liveclock
Weather icon
ScrollingBoard (Quickly access iPod controls with one quick swipe on the dock)
CallTell (announces who is calling and reads SMS texts aloud)
iFile (Complete access to file system)

My iPhone 4 running 4.2.1, super fast and smooth, and has never crashed.

You would be surprised at how many working professionals need a jailbroken iphone.

I didn't want to jailbreak. I just realized my stock IP4 would be less efficient/useful than the Blackberry Tour I left it for. Among other things, Lockinfo (notification) is vital.

I used to jailbreak my 2G iPhone to unlock it. Never was too thrilled about the stabillity. I have never used a jailbrake on my 3GS, iP4, iPad1, iPad2 or atv. I'm not feeling i'm missing anything, all my iDevices are running stable. No jailbrake for me.
