Have we actually established that order time matters?
Many Apple representatives have asserted that it does. Indeed, that it's an overriding factor. ...However credible one finds their representations.
Different Watch models have entirely independent queues, though. So a 42mm SS BSB preorder is apparently independent of a 42mm SS WSB preorder. And a 38mm SS BSB. And so on. (Possibly this explains some of the apparent out-of-order shipping notifications; not everyone on this thread, and sometimes not even the moderators directing traffic here, have always respected the thread title.)
Also, it appears that many (possibly all 9) countries have Watch allotments that are reserved specifically for themsuch that a later order from (say) Germany could be delivered before an earlier order from (say) the U.S.
Then, Apple's queue record allegedly does not always match the time that preordering customers believe that their preorders were confirmed. Supposedly some people received an e-mail confirmation at X:0Y a.m. on April 10, but Apple has registered that preorder coming in many minutes later. If true, this would lead to apparent out-of-order shipments.
Finally, who knows if everyone (really, anyone) here is telling the truth about their confirmation times?
I think it's very difficult to hack through that series of ambiguities to guess at what posts on this thread suggest about near-future Watch deliveries. But several of us are absurd (desperate?) enough to try it anyway.
