I was just wondering who ordered on April 10, 42mm Stainless Steel Apple watch with Milanese loop and have you been charged yet for it? Has a delivery estimate of 5/13/15 to 5/27/15

No charge yet for me, or preparing for shipping

Also I live in Illinois (If that makes any difference)

So Much For Pre-Order

Long time lurker here. This launch, however has really steamed me.
Confirmation at 12:06. still pending. EOD.No product tomorrow

First time I had pre-ordered and now wondering..Why? Not life or death if I don't have it tomorrow, but I can't stop feeling that this launch was totally botched.

There was no FIFO order movement, chat with any Apple people was worthless as they were not given the right info and yet there are some people saying the retail head didn't have much choice.

IMO, as she was a very high powered CEO of a successful company, I feel she was given sufficient time to get her arms around the Apple environment prior to the watch announcement. We certainly don't know what the talks are behind closed doors, but it seems that she should have had at least:

1. How many of each SKU's were going to be produced (based on product constraints)
2. Logistics of packing and moving product
3. Information going to retail reps
4. Ability to ensure timely shipments based on order time and date.

It appears, this escaped her grasp. She should have early on, before the 4/24 date said this won't work. I believe that Apple (Tim) put the cart before the horse and having to run with an 'Early 2015' date, would just take the chance that it would work. I don't believe it did.

To the average buying public, this won't be a big deal, but it seems to me that within the Apple community that they have let us down big time:

1. Apparently overproduced alum/blue. Good that Devs can get some sooner. This will just hopefully, help improve the app process. I have nothing against that.
2. Lack of insight to manage production. Casings could have been made far in advance.
3. Did we really need that many variations of product to start with if they couldn't really manage the manufacturing processes?

Are there other factors...Yes! Board of Directors....How many companies that have attempted to market smartwatches can say that inventory completely sold out and sales will continue to skyrocket.

So, all in all, this, to me, was a big bust and a total SNAFU with retail. Angela won't get ousted (video certainly showed her weakness) and Tim will remain. We will all eventually get our watches and we will move on.

As far as Steve is concerned..He's been out of the picture and it's a new Apple. Not sure if I like it.

This isn't on Angela--this is supply chain analytics that failed. The randomness of the orders, lack of charges, and various statues with wide ranges of variability is the thing that puzzles me the most.

She is in control of retail, both B&M and Internet. Orders, charges & shipping are on her plate. She needs to be aware of the supply chain and know when to intervene. That's what she was in charge of at Burberry.

As I said, this isn't directly on Angela. Doubtful that she executed the supply chain strategy--there are a large amount of people who make these decisions that Anglea doesn't even see.

From Apple's end, this isn't a botch. They gave the shipping window and I was one of the unlucky ones who aren't getting their watch tomorrow despite ordering before some of the other people on the same SKU. The reality of retail. This isn't a situation in which they oversold something.

So far, there hasn't been a pattern of locales that were delayed--perhaps billing address is different than shipping--there are so many variables that happen with supply chain. With how systematic Apple is, I'm sure the lack of reason on our end, has some logic behind it.
