My business does. I'd like to know if they'll "catch on" as a self-explanatory way of looking up contact information.

Who owns a .tel and what do you use it for?

The .tel is a way to give away your privacy from what I can tell (yes, I get it has "privacy" options). It's kind of like a social networking site, but less useful. Hard to say if many people will use it. I don't see myself ever getting one, and I know 100% that my company would never use this.

Some reading:

Hi all - I work at Webnames and I can tell you that .tel is not a social networking utility. It is supremely boring and supremely useful. It holds contact data - that's it.

Think of it as your online business card. It's most useful on a mobile phone as you don't have to wade through website info to find "contact us".

Webnames has a blog called aboutdottel.com - it's got lots of ideas on the uses of a .tel
