After many long years of reading MR's, I decided to join a couple weeks ago...glad to be here!

As the title states...who all owns more than one Apple Watch (and uses them on a daily basis)...and if so, what are your use cases? Different case finish types for different occasions? Second Watch in case the other's battery dies?

I own a Series 6, but recently was given a Series 1 (not the Series 0)...even though it's old, I still think there could be a use case for it. Am curious what some, if any, of you all do!

Well, an obvious use case in your situation would be to use the Series 1 if you're doing activities more prone to damaging a watch, such as yard work, construction, etc.

Well, I have my S4 SBSS for situations I don‘t want to wear the newer ones, like usagora suggested above (still looking like new though).

The S5 SBTi and the S6 SSG I wear whenever I feel like I want a more stealthy look or a bit of bling - and of course when one or two of them is charging I wear another one :)

S6 SBTi I wear everyday for most situations.

I picked up a used SE AW earlier this year when I know I'm going to be in a situation where I don't want my Ti AW to get banged up -- ie. at the beach, doing yardwork, golfing, at the pool with my son. It already had some use on the case, so I don't mind if it gets scuffed up or banged around compared to my SBTi AW.

If I pick up a new Apple watch then:
  • Old Apple Watch / connected to my work phone / use it while at the gym.
  • New Apple Watch / connected to my personal phone / use it when not at the gym
I just to confirm if the data will sync properly that way between devices.

The two watches won't really talk to each other since they're connected to two different phones. Things that will sync, however, are things that connect via iCloud (presuming you have the same iCloud account logged in on each different phone).

Ah different phones… missed that little detail. So not entirely sure if health data is going to sync properly, probably not… :-(

There's a couple of threads out there on this topic already. I have 3 Apple Watches - a S6 Nike Aluminum in Space Grey, an S5 Stainless Steel, and an S5 white Ceramic. I love them all, and rotate between them all daily, and also change bands daily. Different color bands look different on the different watch materials and colors, and I have some favorite combos. I own multiple Apple Watches for the same simple reason I own multiple mechanical watches, or multiple bracelets, or multiple necklaces, or any other accessory - I like variety.

Ahem. I have four.

SS Series 6
SS Series 5, Black
Ceramic Series 5
Aluminum, Series 4

I wear a different one daily, usually depending on the clothes I'm wearing that day. I also have 30 or so bands (not all Apple, some leather, mostly sport bands).

Of the four, 2 were purchased new---the ceramic and black SS models came from eBay.

The aluminum Series 4 is worn when I work in the yard or whatnot if I don't want to risk damaging one of the other 3.

The ceramic I picked up last fall; I had always wanted one, but the prices were too high. Found one from a seller in Florida that was buy it now at a low starting price.

I doubt I get a Series 7; no need to.

Oh, I've had Apple watches since Series 0. I've gifted all my others to my nephews. I figure I'll do the same with these four in time.

I was always split between AW and Garmin, as I cycle and swim. The biggest downside to Garmin's powerhouse Fenix 3 I own was its size and weight, while the convenience of AW always made it a daily driver unless I was doing sports or going somewhere for more than a day, so I knew to take Garmin as it always just lasts for weeks. As I picked up the latest Garmin Venue 2 a few weeks ago my AW3 is just sitting there. I will sell it. Sure, it is nice to be able to answer a call from the watch, adjust the volume of my audio feed to my earpods using the crown, but the Venue 2 can do most of what the AW can, and it is in a different galaxy of taking and measuring various health telemetry (sleep quality is one) and the AW is literally nowhere near. That, aside from AW's eternal inability to distinguish swim styles or connect to ANT sensor on my bike. Garmin has quietly won. OLED display on Venue rocks, and with the always on mode switched of it lasts for a week, more if you loose some other features.

AW sleep tracking is dismal: fitness bracelets like Honour 6 will bring a much more insightful set of metrics. I personally give up on using AW3 as it does far less for me than Garmin Venue 2 does. I cant possibly fathom special use cases for different iterations of AW as they all look the same and do the same. If anyone paid extra for a premium iteration - good for them, but at the end these are all the same.

They're not the same. Apple has introduced changes with each generation. Changes to processor, sensor packages, capabilities etc.

The Wikipedia page has a ton of information on the different generations.

The Series 6 has an ECG feature and always on, for example, while the SE does not.
