I have the series 5 ceramic white 44mm. Who has a second Apple Watch such as the aluminum one that they use for workouts like CrossFit, running, weight lifting, etc? I got the sport loop and also got the peacock color leather band. Also just ordered the Hermès leather single loop orange leather band. I guess I was concerned about constant changes of the bands daily when working out and when going to work. Plus the risk of possible damage from weight lifting with the weights hitting the watch scares me sometime. I want to wear the watches to keep track of my workouts.

I have two. My “good” watch is a SS Series 4 that I wear during the day or out and about. I also have a set of bands including several Sport Bands, Apple’s metal link band, and a few third party leather bands that I use with that watch. My other Apple Watch is a Series 3 (GPS) that i use when I go to the gym or when I’m working in the yard. For that watch, I have several of the Sport Loops which I like because they keep the watch snug against my wrist as I work out.

As for band switching, I’ll swap bands once a week or so on each, but I never put the sport loops on my SS Model.

Having two watches is a great convenience for a lot of reasons, plus it decreases the need for swapping bands. My suggestion is that if you can afford a second watch, get it, especially if you intend to use it in “hazardous” environments. If you intend to use a second watch as a “workout watch”, you don’t need a fancy model. I got the S3 GPS, which works fine for its intended purpose.

I have a S5 GSS for every day, and a S0 SS for when I do anything that risks making contact with the watch (yard work/working on my vehicles) and when I'm charging the S5.

I have three, I have my old series 2 Nike for DIY etc, my series 4 SS for work, and my series 6 graphite for everything else (though my series 4 still gets a fair amount of use outside of work too)

SS series 3 for working out and working around the yard. Natural Ti series 6 for everything else!

Apple Watch Natural Titanium for work/working out............other watches for everything else

I'm still wearing my original S0 every day - I workout in a.m. and like that I can just rinse off the whole SS watch & SS link band under the tap afterwards. Normally I just wear the SS band all the time, though sometimes I'll switch to a nylon sport loop (eg much more comfortable for some things like golf).

I have a S6 SBTi on order w/ leather link, and at first was worried about managing different bands for daily workout vs other with the new S6 - i.e. didn't want to ruin the leather band (was going to retire the S0 or maybe give it away)

But I just very recently discovered by reading in this forum that you can seamlessly use two AW with Activity data working between the two, so instead of switching bands back and forth I plan now to keep using the old S0 for workouts and S6 for everything else.

I had six stainless Apple Watches at one point (Yes, I posted photos on here of all them), all of which I change the bands and I would never wear the same watch daily. I’m a bit of an Apple Watch fanatic, owning almost every single model they’ve made, with the Exception of the ceramic/Hermes. Me, I love the personalization with the Apple Watch of mixing-matching. One of my favorite combinations was the black stainless steel black paired with a brown leather band, just looked freakin’ awesome.

Which model would you suggest as an allrounder? I think about owning one apple watch for all activities. So sweating etc. should not damage the product.

I have a 44mm S5 Natural Ti as daily with LTE connection and several bands.
I have a 40mm S5 SB Ti with black sports band that I wear to bed and sometimes wear on right wrist with real mech watch on the left.

Sport model. Lightweight, solid resale value, 7000 series aluminum is extremely durable. (The Ion-X Glass Display is semi-decent against lighter scratches.)

I've kept my Watch 3 for swimming. It has held up well. When I got my Watch 4 I decided it was too "pretty" to risk it in the pool. Finally got a Watch 6 which is my new "dress" watch. Keeping the Watch 3 for pool work until it dies and using the 4 for outdoor sports activities that don't involve water.

I do have three Apple Watches. S5 Stainless, S5 Aluminum and the OG 18K Gold Watch Edition.

The Series 5 Aluminum for Workouts and at home relaxing.
The S5 Stainless for work. I swap out the bands and watch faces for the Stainless daily.
The OG Watch Edition for Date night or if I feel like flexing on a client.

For daily use at work I have the second gen black leather band with the simple watch watch face on my stainless.
For a meeting i'll swap to the stainless steel band with the chronograph pro face. (White or Black face)
For business casual days or during the summer i'll use the milanese loop band

I still have my Series 2 Nike that I use for work, yard work, workouts, and sleep tracking. I use my Series 4 Space Black Stainless for going out or anything I consider a special occasion.

How do you do this?

Can you have two watches and have everything sync perfectly between them? Activity data? Messages? Etc...

And, while you wear one watch is the other watch powered off or just left on?

Everything syncs just fine across multiple watches connected to a single phone.

I tend to leave the watches I’m not wearing on the chargers so that they are ready to go when I want to swap between them.

I like this idea!
I have two Series 3 and a new Series 6, no issues with switching between them and data sync 👍 Was using the older Series 3 for swimming but that will probably fall back to DIY and rougher jobs, now using the newer Series 3 for sleep tracking and Series 6 for all else.

I am a minimalist, so I do not want multiple watches. I have a S5 space gray aluminum, and I find that it works perfectly well for all situations. I just put on a nice leather band for work, a woven nylon for everyday use, and a nike sport band or sport loop for workouts.

Yeah that works!!

But some people may have the more expensive ‘Edition’ or ‘Hermes’ watches AND an older Apple watch which they can wear to “mess” about with.

I love having a “beater” for the mundane stuff. Why bother selling an AL S4 for the price of a couple of bands. Plus it looks virtually the same as my $899 SSTi. Guess which is which.

Well kinda. I voted that I have two but its more a case of

  • S4 for normal use, working out, etc.
  • S2 when I am going to be doing things like working on my car, yard work, etc. Situations where I'm more likely to damage it (scratching the screen on sharp objects, concrete, etc.)
  • S2 also when my S4 is on charge or updating, etc.
