You just mustn't use it as a phone lol

Here Moto G

It hit 8 days when battery was at 0% and shut down ..

At 70% battery life left, I have 1.3 days(30h 4m) remaining on standby, and can still receive calls and texts using "Ultra Power Saving Mode" on my S6 Edge. :p

That Moto G is one secret gem. Got it free with S6 purchase over weekend. Perfect as land line phone replacement using Hangouts Dialer over WIFI.

But if you have turn off cellular etc... Surely it's no longer an 'android phone' it's just an 'android device' therefore your thread title contradicts itself ;) :p

Says "31% Phone Idle" - so got "Phone" in there somewhere :D

On my Sony Xperia it lasts easily a week and I can even browse web on 3G (for example read the news), but if I watch YouTube videos and do heavy gaming on it such as San Andreas it doesn't even last a day.

Play Gummy Drop and your battery won't last more than a few hours ;)

One of my old iPhone 4 can last roughly 12 days when in standby, with one charge. :p
Of course I didn't use it at all since I have bought iPhone 6 plus.
However if I turn on Wi-Fi, and then it can last only less than up to 3 or 4 days.

That is generally background housekeeping (or NSA phoning home). I've take a few Android phones, rooted them, removed the phone-specific apps to make them dedicated portable media players. The resulting battery life was insane. Performance was terrific.

I've had one last over 1 month standby.

Moto G's battery life is pretty awesome, it lasts around 16-17 hours, with 3-4 hours of screen on time.

The RAM management of this phone though is absolutely atrocious. I had to type this text out in a notepad and then paste it here because the keyboard kept disappearing on this thread in Chrome. You can browse and listen to music at the same time. Everytime you go back to the homescreen it redraws, everytime you return to Chrome it has to reload the page. The RAM management is awful!

LG G3 Beat only drains 1-2% every day while idle. Perhaps when Wi-Fi is on, it might give me 7 hrs while using a stock browser and downloading. On 3G browsing, my Xiaomi gives me 8+ hrs SOT continously while the LG goes 10 hrs. .

Both gens of Moto G had the Snapdragon 400 like my LG and Nokia Lumia 635. I really like that SoC. Low power consumption from Cortex A7. This is why the Huawei Ascend Mate2 had INSANE battery life. Snapdragon 400 with 3900 mAh. My Xiaomi after MIUI 5.18.x lost the battery saving mode feature where the CPU throttles down to 1.1 GHz. So when I play my PvZ2, I no longer get 5 hrs SOT but less than 4 hrs and it heats up more reaching 2.26 GHz unnecessarily. The LG G3 Beat at 1.2 GHz doesn't overheat that much or as quickly. Snapdragon 400 is like going on power saving mode on Snapdragon 800 or above.

Between 1-1.2 GHz quad for the CPU is a good range for me to keep the heat low and battery life longer while playing my games. Hitting over 1.5 GHz CPU speeds for all cores can sometimes be unnecessary to do even basic tasks that doesn't need it. I think my Apple iPhone 4, Xiaomi Mi 3, Nokia Lumia 635, and LG G3 Beat have all given me the best battery life with excellent idle time. The iPhone 4 once gave me one month standby in 2013 while on airplane mode. But I think this LG surpassed it. A replaceable 2540 mAh to power a "5 inch HD display. Has the perfect balance of necessary speed and features I need with long battery life. The G2 mini is even longer but only has qHD. But me likes the G3 Beat for the design and sharper display. G3 Beat (aka G3 S Dual which I have) is better than Moto G, HTC One mini 2, Sony Xperia M2, and Samsung Galaxy S5 mini for the price and bigger battery.

Mobile Firefox+ABP is better on Moto G.

As far as idle time, Galaxy Note II with always-on WIFI does 6 days as an IP phone. Have a feeling Moto G is even longer.

My Lumia 640 XL lasts 1.5 days EASILY, with moderate usage and taking LOTS of photos. Android... you wait until Android M "doze" comes out - I hear GREAT things of it.
