Who will be keeping their iPhone 12 series this year?

My regular 12 is still extremely fast (haven’t noticed a slow down), the battery is OK and the camera is great. I’m inclined to hold off another year; the big issue I have is how ram starved the phone feels these days, reloads getting more and more common and can effect me when I’m in a call. Issue in my mind is the 14 sounds lacklustre and I couldn’t justify 14 pro prices in this economic climate (no amazing trade in deals in the Uk). I wouldn’t mind going for a reduced 13 but that also has 4gb ram and I really want at least 6gb.

Overall undecided and will wait for the announcement.
I agree with you on this. Plus the 12 and 13 are extremely similar which is why I skipped it myself. I work for one of the major cellular companies in the US so I know first hand how similar they are. I wouldn’t even go for a reduced 13. I’d rather wait for the 15. ESP since my 12 pro max is still functioning extremely well and the battery is still good. So yeah for me I’d rather wait for the improvement tweaks on what comes out in the next few weeks as well as hoping they also integrate the usbc for the 15 series.

I still have 9 payments left on my 12 pro but we'll see. But the battery life on my pro sucks really bad and is very annoying.

I have my purple 512GB Pro Max saved in my cart for preorder, and have a S8 Ultra ordered. This will be a big upgrade for my via my Apple Watch is still on WatchOS 6.2.8 and 12 Pro Max is still on 14.1.

I'm considering buying either a 12 Pro or a regular 13. Does anyone have any advice one which one they think is the better call?

My main priorities are camera, battery life & graphical performance and i'll definitely be keeping this device for quite some time.

I'd go for a regular 13. It's a year newer the cameras are a bit better and having owned a 12 Pro for 2 years the battery life on the 12 series isn't great especially once you start using 5G. The 13 addressed the poor battery life somewhat.

Gonna upgrade. The battery is starting to show its age, and the slight camera improvements are worth it as I usually take pictures daily.

Thanks for the insight. Shame about the 12's battery life, I really would've loved a telephoto lens, but that's obviously a few rungs lower on the priority ladder.

Keeping my non pro 12. The pro 12 was barely any different and not worth it at all. Only problem is I'm running low on storage on my 64gig so I may just get a renewed 12 with 128 gig.

I also like the 12 weight. The new phones are like bricks.

The 12 is by no means a bad phone and forcing it to only use 4G does help with the battery but on 5G I've gone through 10%+ battery in less than an hour doing basic web browsing.

Gone back and forth, to the point where I did all the pre-order stuff for the 14 Pro in Silver

However I like the Pacific Blue too much, and as nice as the Silver is, the only reason to upgrade is the camera and "Dynamic Island" which I think will be pretty rubbish for a few months whilst 3rd party apps work out how best to implement it etc

Well, my plans were dashed at the announcement. I was expecting to be able to update my iPhone7 to an iPhone12mini with a new lowered price. What was $530 the day before the announcement was just removed entirely from the Apple store. The iPhone12mini is still available from my carrier (AT&T) but at $600…just silly. Looks like I’m going to have to go to the iPhone13mini at some point, but I’m deferring the update for now. But I am watching the refurbished section of Apple’s website.

I do generally only use 4G. The speeds are great and I don’t do anything on a phone which warrants needing 5G speeds, that sort of activity is naturally reserved for my laptop.

It was tough believe me!! But keeping 12 pro for another year, I’m in the same boat with poor battery now however Apple do replacements at the store for £70 which I think is great value to see your phone out comfortably another year as i certainly don’t experience any general slow down on it, the 6gb ram of the pro gave it good future proof.

I agree battery life is not great with my 12 pro max battery at 93% & hubby's 12 pro max battery at 91%. We just plan to get the batteries replaced when the time comes as we have AppleCare. Plus, hubby is not ready to part with his blue iPhone lol. I'm fine keeping my phone for a while.

I had a 14 Pro ordered for myself, but decided to cancel it. My 12 mini still works perfectly fine - battery issues, worsening eyesight, overheating issues aside.

I lived with it for the last two years, I don’t see why I can’t make it another year or two. Especially with a battery replacement coming up. I definitely like the size and weight of the mini anyway.

My partner is getting a 14 Pro, I’ll just mess around with her’s to scratch the FOMO itch.

I was tempted to upgrade to 14 PM from XS yesterday but my wife who has 12 PM offered to me exchange, because she is recently reducing screen time for recovery of her eyesight and merely use camera.

After exchanging, I'm really happy the processing power of 12PM as I experience lag and crash when I use certain apps but will buy 14PM if she complains.

As it doesn’t have USB-C I have to let it go.
Hopefully next year it changes.
As I take lots of pictures och video it’s a pain to use with lightning.
