Maybe it becomes more of a collectors item in the future...Picasso impaled by Vegas Tycoon...
A very expensive mistake to be sure, but perhaps it is just a fake - say this was a fake made and this will conceal that there was repairs to it so then he sells the fake for the 90-100 millin and still has the original locked away somewhere for a future generation....maybe I am watching too many movies...

Speaking of which, did you see the episode of NUMB3RS about that. Your post reminded me of that episode. It was really good.
