Got my 6+ 128gb the other day. I originally preordered the gold version with my carrier, but even though I was #7 to preorder it with my carrier, it turned out to be impossible to get and they offered me to switch to the space grey. I wasn't too keen on it at first, but I gave in and had them ship me the space grey. Man, what a beautiful phone. I originally dismissed it as looking too boring and too much like a generic Android phone. But in real life it looks so much better. So slick and professional. My Note 2 looks cheap in comparison. No regreats here.
I feared the worst when turning on the phone for the first time. But everything turned out to be okay. Screen is perfect. White is white. No yellow tint or patches. No shadows. No backlight bleed. No dead pixels or dust particles.Uniform screen all over. The screen on my Note 2 looks sad when sitting next to the 6+. The Note 2 looks grainy and the colors look unnatural.
Exterior is perfect as well. Buttons work as they should. Home button is a little more 'clicky' compared to my iPads, but it doesn't feel wrong to me in any way and I think that's just because it's brand new. Camera seems to working great as well, but I haven't been able to really test it because the weather has been a complete disaster here.
Only thing that I wasn't impressed with the first day was the battery life. I got little over 7 hours out of it before I had to recharge and at one point I even saw the battery level drop by 2% from 16% to 14% in one go. Never seen that before on any of my iDevices. But after recharging it completely, my battery life has been great. 7 hours of usage, 1 day standby and it's still at 50%. That beats the crap out of my old Note 2 (would have been dead at that point).
As for iOS 8, I've only really had issues with 5GHz wifi dropping on me. 2.4GHz works fine. Not being able to use 5GHz is a big deal to me, but I'm assuming it'll be fixed soon, so I'm not freaking out over it. Everything else seems to be working fine. Not seeing any lag that makes me think the 6+ is underpowered. The places where I have seen some lag on my 6+, my iPads lag there as well, so that's an iOS/app issue, not at 6+ issue.
All in all, I'm very impressed with the 6+. It's everything I've wanted in a phone. But considering how much I had to pay for it, it better be
