No. The iPad for me is a novelty, not a staple of my regular workflow. This could change with the maturation/introduction of robust HTML5 authoring tools in the next year or so. Still, the alleged price point is intriguing...

I going to try it. I like the screen ratio, and it possible some documents may display better than on the larger model.

It's one of those things that probably takes a lot of time to know if it's going to work or not. The large ipad was that way for me, and there's no reason to think this one will be any different.

my ipad is collecting dust because it's too cumbersome. the ipad mini will be great!

I held out on an iPad for a long time because I thought it would be cumbersome to use too; however, I put a case on it where the front cover serves as the base when it's open and my iPad has almost completely replaced my MacBook Air as my primary e-mail/browsing couch potato device.

I've also ditched the MBA for travel now too and just toss the iPad in my carry-on.

(do we think Nov 2 will be the in-store date?)

my other "issue" is that i can't pre-order cuz i don't get my check until Nov 2... so i SERIOUSLY will be in line (at Apple Store Providence RI) at 430am.

ME!! The most I will pay is the rumored 329. If its anything over then I will buy a used iPad 2. I am so excited for tomorrow.

Random question - Where can we watch the keynote tomorrow?

i dont think you can watch it live but engadget will be live blogging it

iPad mini being almost 8 inches isn't really the much more mobile than an iPad. So I'd never carry it around, that's what I got my iPhone 5.
Although ill get the mini if its faster then my ipad3

Is there any chance it can be before Nov 2nd?

If its no more than £250 (my prediction is £249) then I will be buying one for an upcoming birthday. If not, it'll be the Nexus 7. Obviously it also depends on the specs.

I don't own an iPad yet, so I'll likely go with the Mini, but I'll have to see the specs first. A Mini's just at a better price point for me. I'd say if it has a retina screen, there's a 95% chance I'll go with that over the full iPad.

I think I will be, I like everything that's rumoured about it. I've been thinking about an iPad for a little while but something smaller suits me better for what I'll be using it for.

I like reading books in bed, but if I use my phone (which is a little bit too small) I fall asleep and it doesn't end up changed enough for tomorrow. I'd like to be able to just chuck my phone on to charge and use a little iPad at home in the evenings. It'll be the perfect size for me for reading and also just small enough (I think) to fit in your back pocket to listen to music sometimes in the garage.

For doing the Internet while sitting in the Lazyboy, the iPad replaced my laptop. Still need my laptop and both desktops for work other than play.

I am hoping that after MS gets the surface tablet out, MS will give the iPad a Office suite

As of right now....probably not. Tried out a Nexus 7 and the screen is just too small. When browsing the web I was constantly having to zoom in to see text and things like that. If I'm going to have to go through all of that I might as well just use the phone.

For the time being I still think the 10" tablet is the optimal size.

Same here, but isn't the screen ratio is different? As I recall it was longer. This won't help with the web, but the feel should be different. (correct me if i'm wrong here).

He introduced the mac mini and said "You knew there would be something called "mini" in this presentation didn't you?"

Everyone laughed, including me! hahahahahahah

Looks like they kept the specs back and will release the A6 and Retina in the next version.

Yes, being used to retina I wouldn't go back. In any case, I need the additional screen size for work, so I'm perfectly happy with my 3gen.
