I can't wait. It premiers Monday, September 26, and I really think it will fill the emptiness that LOST left me with. Is anyone else excited?

A. There will NEVER be a show like LOST.
B. Tera Nova is just gonna be a TV series based on the movies.

A. You are absolutely correct, but like I said, I think it will fulfill my current emptiness that LOST left me with.
B. I don't think so. It does remind me of a few other shows, but I think it will still be great. Take "Falling Skies" for example, when it started I thought it was a "Battle: LA" copycat but the season just wrapped and I can't wait for the second. Just because a show is similar to another doesn't mean it can't/won't be good.

The previews look like they put money and effort into to special effects, but I need to see if the human talent is up to carrying my interest.

I missed out on Lost, but Fringe has me hooked. It's all about writing and acting.

It is the most expensive pilot ever made. The media is saying somewhere around 20 million. They've put a lot of time and effort into this show so far. Each episode had a budget of around 4 million, took about 9 days to shoot, and spent 6 weeks in post-production  (which Wikipedia states is double a television show's average).

I have high hopes for the show, I hope I'm not let down.

Same here. I hope they don't go overboard with the Jurassic Park CGI.

I read a review that said the CGI was over used and the writing sucked. Still going to give it a chance.

OT: I really liked Falling Skies on TNT this summer.

I've seen a few previews, and one of the scenes looks exactly like a scene from Jurassic Park. A dinosaur was chasing after a Humvee (?), and it got along beside it and bodychecks it.

I've heard good things about Falling Skies.

I'm looking forward to the Michael Emerson show.

I will give Tera Nova a chance even though I never really liked the Jurassic Park movies.

So it's basically "Avatar" but with dinosaurs instead of blue animals

No, the earth and all life is threatened in terms of existence (in 2149) so they go back to save the human race. So of course there will be dinosaurs. Again, many people said Falling Skies was a "Battle: LA" TV show and it ended up great.

I was looking for the "apprehensive" poll choice. When I was a kid, I would have been very excited by the premise of this show, but I'm no longer a kid and had to vote "no". I'm preparing to be disappointed because what he said, and because I think on tv it will be difficult to pull off. Hoping I am pleasantly surprised.

I thought Falling Skies was awesome! Can't wait for it to return. I am also looking forward to Terra Nova.

If it has a good story and writing, then i'll follow it. But i'll watch the pilot episodes and give it a shot. The preview looks good so far!

A. LOST was vicarious schizophrenia presented on TV.

B. Terra Nova is Jurassic Park meets Avatar. So, it should be entertaining but not on par with the best of TV.

Falling Skies is a more family friendly version of The Walking Dead.

It's like Party of Five meets The Walking Dead.

It also seems too similar to the movie version of War of the Worlds.

Beyond that it is fairly entertaining but it seems unoriginal.

Both Terra Nova and Falling Skies are shows that are good if your expectations don't get too high before you start watching.
