I am considering it. Does anyone have any idea how many they are getting?? or since they are open 24/7 when they can officially start selling?

I accidentally canceled my reservation at my local store (don't ask), so it looks like i'll be driving to my local walmart. They'll probably get like one or two in stock lol.
 
If I'm upgrading 3 eligible lines to the iPhone 4, can I get 3 of them at walmart?

I'm thinking they will only let me get one :(

My other family members are going to be jealous :p
 
I think I'll call wal mart on the 23rd and see if they are doing a midnight launch. If so, ill buy my no commitment iPhone 4 there. If not, off to wait at the Apple Store.
 
if they have some i can care less where i buy it at. although i do want a nice apple bag. hahaha. But apple stores are going to be a mess. if i have to buy it at radio shack then so be it. :)
 
The Walmart closest to me is in a town of 15,000 people. When you think of typical shoppers, this store is it.

I have a hard time believing anyone will be going there for the iPhone 4. I guess I spaced it. I will be in line the next town over in Best Buy, (since i already have pre'ordered with the card) but will certainly check at Wally World at 5AM on my way outta town.

iPhone+Wal-Mart Who would thought...

Ok, so I visited my local Wally World and the electronics babe showed me an internal document she got via fax this morning.

The skinny is this:

Only black 16 gig models will be available (on contract only of course)
All sales are 'supposed' to be starting @ 8:00AM

I was wondering what was up with the walmart phobia that I see when iPhone and walmart are mentioned in the same sentance but now I know why.

I tried to call my local walmart and they were nice. Told me they don't have the 3G so don't anticipate getting the iP4.

Then I called one a bit further away.

"Electronics"
"Will you guys have the the iPhone 4 in stock"
"Dunno"
"-_- Do you have the 3G in stock"
"no"
"Oh, ok. Thanks for your time"

Not everyone who works in Electronics are updated on what phones are in stock. You should be asking for their Connection Center. They're the ones that will know your answer.
 
That response may not be stupid, but simple and true.

They probably don't know if they are getting iPhone 4's, and since the 3GS aren't being stocked (the new, 8GB models will be in stock on the 24th), then they may well be out.
 
My guess is that the person behind the counter would end up "rolling back" your data plan to 2GB during an upgrade. ;)
 
If a walmart employee made a mistake and downgraded my data plans I would be soooo pissed!!! :mad:

I'd have the store manager giving me a free phone by the time I left.
 
I've been to walmart twice and the best time to go is right when they open! There was nobody there, but after 30min the hillbillies started waltzing in... lol

No offense to the red necks on the site :D

All the Walmarts around me are 24/7 so the hillbillies are there all night haha

But in reference to walmart, there is not a chance in hell I would trust going there for an iPhone release. Our walmarts are hopeless enough when you try to buy a video game on the release date, so my guess is that they'd get some iPhone 4's in and they'll have the box in the stock room and nobody will know where it is until about 2 weeks later.
