It really depends on what 4.0 has to offer.

Right now, the only JB addition I have on my iPhone is LockInfo and Poof to hide the stocks and VM apps. I easily got tired of the different themes, so I just went back to the native theme.

I will go to 4.0 as soon as there is a Jailbreak for it.. I Would rather have what apple develops and use the JB to fill in the gaps.. especially if there are UI changes..

You can jailbreak without changing the appearance of your iPhone.

Apps/capabilities worth jailbreaking for: Backgrounding/multitasking, Skype VOIP over 3g, tethering, and xGPS.
You forgot SBSettings and it's various toggles.
I find that this(along with Backgrounder), is my only primary reason to jailbreak.
Of course I have minor changes, such as custom SMS/email tones and optional homescreen wallpapers, but those aren't essential.
SBSettings makes things so much easier to alter common toggles, without leaving whatever app you're in(it works with any app, that shows the top status bar, in either orientation).

depending on what the next Iphone hardware has to offer I probably will switch to 4.0 only cause i'm due for an upgrade. I'm fine with my 3g iPhone but if the new phone has like 5MP camera and some other cool things then i'm probably going to upgrade. Hopefully it won't take too long for me to j/b. I love sbsettings, bitesms, and 3g unrestrictor. those three are my favorite cydia apps.

By the time the new iPhone (4G version) is released (perhaps June or July) the standard OS will be at least 4.0 if not higher.

So the question is do you upgrade your 3G to OS 4.0 or remain jailbroken.

I like my jailbreaked phone... it actually feels like "mine" and not some normal regular iphone that looks the same accross the board. 4.0 will have to wait.... at least until a JB is out for it.

i second this!!
"there are many like it, but this one is mine!"

Not if I have to go back to the regular text message app. I love tlert, where you can text anywhere. Love that app. Makes you appreciate the little nuances in the jb community that improves your phone experience 100%.

One of these days when I'm really bored, I want to totally change the interfacte of my iphone and do away with the stock icons. Till then though...

tlert?

I've always said I have the best phone out there, even better than the iPhone. It's called myPhone. The things I've found to be more important are the tweaks, I have soo many of them. Status notifier, multiexchange, safari download manager, quick reply SMS, proswitcher, sbsettings, etc. There was a guy that said jb isn't worth it. Little does he know.. I used to hate it, now I'm it's greatest fan.

It truly depends on what's in 4.0 and what benefit I will get for my 3GS 32GB White phone, if not much I will stay right where I am, if some cool stuff, I might consider, but I will wait for some people here to tell us their opinions about it first.

Quite happy with my iPhone where it is now, so far not much on the compelling stories to make me upgrade from my 3GS.
