I'm outside of Portland, OR, and it still is horrible - mostly between 55k-60k. I spoke with two different AT&T people last night and was told there was no upgrades in my area. I was fortunate in that AT&T did give me a $25 credit on my next bill for the inconvenience. I had also been getting a horrible download speed until I swapped my sim card out. I'm now usually getting over 1MB, though this afternoon at work I was getting over 2MB.

If you are experiencing Internet connection speed issues on your iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4 please call 1-866-700-2105 and report the issue. That number will get you directly to Technical Support without having to navigate the voice menu system.

Only with more people calling in and reporting the issue will AT&T be able to pinpoint the issue and eventually solve the problem.

By the way, I have determined that both iPhone 4's and iPhone 3GS's are having the Internet connection speed issues.

This was posted at ATT.com's forums. I'm currently on hold letting them know my issue. I know it's been voiced before, but hey....squeeky wheel gets the grease!

Update: the guy i spoke with said "This is new to us!" WOW!!! anyways, i created a case and asked that they contact me with a solution. We shall see i guess.

Still capped in morris county, NJ.
<shrug>
If it ever improves, i might consider springing for tethering - until then, not a chance.

Wow just checked mine here in bothell wa and it just jumped to 700 up. Earlier today most i could get was 104.

speeds back up here on Long Island.

Got 4.2mbps down and 1.8mbps up earlier HOLYYYYYY

Several fruitless phone calls

have you called att about the service here in DC? i'm just curious.

It seems other big cities are having area get resolved, but it's consistant here...consistantly crap!

I've called AT&T several times. Once or twice I've had a seemingly competent tech but yesterday's random draw was a total and complete waste of close to 2 hours. When I said, my download speeds get above a thousand but my upload ranges from 0 to 98, she said "yes," like is there a question. I said other cities are now getting uploads of 1700kbs. She said "uh huh." I don't think she even understood the numbers. There has to be a way of escalating the issue so it doesn't stay with someone who has a script to read and knows nothing (understands less).

Still throttled in Kansas City, MO and Springfield, MO. Currently getting 5073 down and 212 up in Springfield. The tower is practically across the street. Was getting 1700 up before 4th of July weekend! It's at least good to know that lots of people are still having problems. I was starting to think that AT&T forgot about updating my lonely tower!

So does anyone here actually believe AT&T? I'm starting to think that this is a cover up to help them cope with the new upload demand of the iPhone 4. They are probably scrambling to upgrade their hardware and software to make the load easier. So it's technically a half-truth...

North Jersey here, right across the hudson from NYC and still getting horrible upload speeds.

I got these numbers this afternoon in Perth Amboy
