How many use this model with cellular service? I'm seeing them used as iPods, yet not as iPhones.

Mine was working as a cell phone back in September when I set it back up. I could text, call, and use 2g data on T mobile.

I'm on Sprint now and have no need to use my OG iPhone as a phone.

And the batteries are still good in these?

My battery may last 4-5 days on standby.

Still have mine, but sadly part of the digitizer no longer works. The top 1/4 of the screen doesn't accept any input 🙁 works fine other than that. Kind of fun to whip it out for nostalgic purposes every once in awhile. Same with my 3GS.

No idea why anyone would want to daily drive one, but hey, the world takes all kinds.
