When a new mobile phone company started up here in the UK a couple of years ago, you had the option to choose your own number, the system checked to see if one was available containing your choice.

Cost me £10 credit on SIM, which I ported to my usual provider when credit mostly used up.

I did this for 5 other memorable numbers !

I bought a number from a UK network for the equivalent of $US40 a few years ago and the last five digits are: 000000 and the preceding digits are
077x7x making it a really simple number to remember.

So far I have had cold call offers for it up to £1200 (US$1900)

BTW dont' call it as only numbers in my contact list gets answered

My phone number are code is 678 followed by the first 3 digits of my social security number and the last 4 digits. I got the phone number about 6 years ago. When you setup a new phone line with AT&T online, they used to let you choose your number from a list. If you weren't happy with the options you could refresh for a new list. I saw this number on the first page of options and scooped it up! Lol

My number used to end with 6969 when I was with Telus. Far too many prank calls. In 2008 when I moved to Fido, my number was 401-1404. I miss that number. Now I've got some weird Rogers number that ends in 8284.
