Why 2 gestures for the same search

Anyway to turn this off? Not sure why we need 2 gestures for the same feature.

Edit. Both swipe right and swipe down.

Why not? You can just do it the new way or the old way.

If it was the same search, I'd be happy but the swipe down doesn't bring up recent contacts & apps like the swipe left from home screen does.

You're right. Makes it confusing, instead of useful.

The old way and the new way (which is the old old way). Makes it that much more accessible for more people, which is what Apple would want.
